Used two weeks now, works fine after used a foot edger and knife to trim the 3 year growth of lawn edge. Had to wait for the sod to dry out. The edger does’t work with damp soil. Otherwise easy to use and does a decent job for battery power.

While we do not have it available on our site for sale at this time, big box stores and online shops do carry 0.125" trimmer line. If you are unable to locate the 0.125" twisted line, this unit will also work with 0.095" diameter spool line. We hope this helped!

Powerful enough and balanced

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have for a month and used many times. Some times heavy use. Overall, works like a charm. 60v allows me to cut for over 45 minutes on 16" and normal setting. Have all 60v, so I have many batteries to swap from device to device, and the chargers to charge them all. Easy assembly and like the quick fill spool.

The Great Line Size Mystery

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First, let's discuss trimmer line size, since everybody's complaining that 0.125" (3mm) twisted line doesn't exist, which is true. In reality, the unit ships with eleven pre-cut strips of 0.155" nylon line, not twisted. This is the standard size for wheeled string trimmers. Seems there was a disconnect between Greenworks' product teams.
Performance is great, but it's loud and messy. The 8Ah battery was almost dead after cutting ~2500 square feet of foot-high foxtails. Luckily it has a second battery slot if you have spares.
You'll need a firm grip, as the unit likes to pitch left and right as it hits obstacles, so forget about making straight lines.
Overall recommended, but very expensive compared to gas uints.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought the string trimmer to use with the existing 60v batteries. The string trimmer performance is good; however it is fairly awkward to hold and use. The base of the string trimmer is thick , which require tilting the trimmer to get a lower cut. We bought an after market shoulder harness that helps some, but we both find it very awkward to use. It would help tremendously if the controls were lower on the handle to help with arm positioning and balance.
