Tackles Weeds!

As someone who has struggled to get the gas to oil ratio just right for his gas trimmers in the past, I welcomed trying a battery operated trimmer. I was happy with the packaging of the trimmer, and it was easy to assemble. Its quiet operation was a break from the loud sound I’m familiar with, when using a gas-operated trimmer.
I found the trimmer transitioned well from weed eating to trimming. When I needed more powered it responded without hesitation.
It is lightweight and easy for anyone to use. I think this would be ideal for someone with a mid-sized yard. If you own a townhome, you should purchase this trimmer. You can use it to cut your entire back yard—the battery life is great!
My next endeavor is to use this to tackle an overgrown area of my yard once it gets colder outside. Great product!

Great light brushless motor trimmer

I found this trimmer to be well balanced, light, quiet, and easy to use. I like the trigger that it has were you push it down on top then pull up the bottom to get it running. The trimmer has plenty of power and the battery lasted for the twenty minutes I trimmed and still had two bars left. The trimmer is unlike a gas trimmer that is always running, so twenty minutes of trimming would include moving from one area to another with it being off. The bump feed work with no issues, fed each time I bumped it, The edge guard on the trimmer seems like a good idea but it seemed to move to one side or another when it hit something. I just removed and had no issues without it, I am use to not having it anyway. The trimmer uses .80 line and not .95, being a homeowner I really don't have an issue, but the pros will want a thicker line. If extra power is needed you can move a switch on the side to increase the power. I found that this setting is not needed in most situations but is nice when needed.The charge time on the battery is 20 - 30 minutes for a half charged 2Ah battery. The battery had enough run time to complete my yard on one charge and if you get more then one Greenworks Pro 60-Volt tools with a battery, that would give you a backup and more run time. I borrowed my parents mower that goes with this 60 volt line, I purchased it for my dad for Fathers Day. The mower mowed just as good as my gas mower that now I am thinking of getting one for myself to go with the trimmer.
A couple of cons I would have with this trimmer would be the Edge guard and the plastic string cut blade. Other than that this is a great trimmer that I would not hesitate to recommend.

Cordless trimmer

Great trimmer, very easy to assemble. At first it seemed to light to be able to handle the work needed to be done, but I was wrong it worked great even when the string was low it still cut great, and the battery was convenient and lasted a long time without a hiccup.

Very Convenient & Easy To Use

I have not had good experiences with gas & battery operated tools in the past, but this string trimmer might make me change my mind.
My initial concerns with battery operated tools were that the battery would take too long to charge & that the charge wouldn't hold up. The instructions state that the battery will go from empty to a full charge in about 30 minutes. It took about 20 minutes to charge the partially charged battery out of the box, so the charge time was very fast for me. The Greenworks battery has a battery life indicator on it, so I was able to see that the battery still has a full charge even after I used it to trim my small back yard.
The piece of equipment is not too heavy and, like all of the Greenworks tools I own, there are appropriate safeguards in the equipment to make the equipment easy for me to use but not easy for a child to use. And, like all of the Greenworks tools I own, the cordless trimmer just works.
The trimmer was not difficult to put together out of the box and it was very powerful. I think Greenworks might have brought me back to cordless tools!

Why the 60 Volt?

I am a Greenworks customer who has several of the 80V tools. I signed up for the Greenworks tool review program several months ago, and had just recently received this 60 Volt String Trimmer from them to use and review. What first brought me to be a customer was the 80 Volt Snow Thrower for clearing a 30x80 foot driveway. After being a satisfied customer with that, I added the 80V string trimmer, Leaf blower, and Chainsaw. I am a residential homeowner and all of these get relatively light duty. I bought the chainsaw to clear trees that are down across a trail when I'm out off road riding, on my UTV. The convenience, quality, and performance of all these tools have been excellent.
After that brief summary of my history with Greenworks, I'll get to the review of this trimmer. My first thought was, why the 60 Volt? I know Greenworks had the 40 Volt and 80 Volt, and wondered how the 60 Volt could fit into their market between the two. After using the 60 Volt trimmer my questions were answered. It is much lighter, but seems every bit as powerful as my 80 Volt trimmer. And at a cheaper cost. This like all the other Greenworks tools are very east to assemble. Come with great instruction manuals that you can actually hold in your hand. This trimmer was much more comfortable to do the job that was before me, than the 80 Volt is. The light weight, ergonomics of how the motor rests on your forearm make this a very comfortable tool to use for light to medium duty weed clearing. I must say that I would have also preferred the 60V, 16" chainsaw over the 18" that is in the 80 Volt line. Mostly because that's all I really need. I over bought my needs with the other tolls just to get extra batteries for my Snow Thrower. Once again, it's about convenience and compatibility.
Conclusion is that this is a great tool. I have found that the 60 Volt line would actually be the best for what I use it for, and the only reason I still would go with the 80 Volt would be for all the tools to be battery compatible with my Snow Thrower. Don't hesitate to buy this or any other Greenworks Battery tools. They have exceeded my expectations in every way. I may eventually actually try one of the Mowers to see if it can convince me to retire my 21" self propelled Honda that I really love.....

Green works great

I had a corded name brand trimmer that lasted for over ten years. This Greenworks trimmer feels and performs just as well as the corded one, but there is no cord to mess with.
Pros:
1. It is well balanced and comfortable to use for extended periods of time.
2. I like the edge guide. My old trimmer was always breaking line on chainlink fence and other obstacles. The edge guard helps me avoid that issue.
3. It has plenty of power. I have a lot of vines and this cuts them back with ease. Vines are thicker and tougher than grass, and they are not a problem for this trimmer.
4. The battery charges quickly enough. If I manage to use the trimmer for more than 30 minutes, then I'm gonna need a little rest anyway. For my yard, 30-40 minutes is plenty of time and I haven't fully drained the battery yet. If I had a larger yard, I would consider buying a backup battery, but at this time, I don't have a need for a second battery.
4. Very affordable to buy and use, no gas and oil to buy.
5. Much more convenient to use over corded and gas trimmers. Just pick it up off my tool rack and go.
6. I have several of the 40v GreenWorks tools and the batteries are sometimes hard to get in and out. This 60v battery is much, much easier to get in and out.

1. The auxiliary handle on the shaft for balance and control is fixed in place by screws. When you flip the trimmer to do edging, the handle is upside down and is a little awkward. I would prefer a handle that is easy to loosen and adjust. My old corded trimmer also had a fixed head, but the auxiliary handle was easily adjusted for edging.
2. The joints where the two parts is in a location that might make it difficult for some people to achieve perfect balance. I don't have an issue with that. I have the handle right next to the joint and the balance is good for me.
