[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second Greenworks string trimmer. I needed a second because I need to take care of two properties far apart and didn't want to keep moving one trimmer back and forth.
The trimmer performs as advertised, and is completely satisfactory. Eye and foot protection is highly recommended, but ear protection is not necessary. The trimmer is very quiet compared to the gas equivalent. I had no problems cutting through overgrown weeds.
Replacing the string is also very easy. Buy replacement string in advance.
I was not expecting much of the 2.5amp battery that came with it. But it had a greater range than I was expecting, and it is significantly lighter than the 5 or 8amp battery I would have otherwise used. But the higher capacity batteries also worked fine with it too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the greenworks Cordless Battery Wheeled String Trimmer with 8.0 Ah Battery and Charger two weeks ago, and I am so excited for yard work again. We had a Troybuilt wheeled string trimmer that was 30+ years old and no longer working reliably. The greenworks wheeled trimmer runs much more quietly and efficiently. It is not as heavy to push or pull. The rear guard keeps stuff from flying back and hitting me. I still wear safety glasses, but I am not concerned about the rest of my face, arms, legs, etc. being hit by flying debris. The battery charges quickly and the power is strong as it attacks the brush and tall grass that has gotten out of control around our property. The run time on one battery is 40 minutes, and I rarely need it that long. We did buy a second battery so we get up to 80 minutes of run time for larger areas. We have 13 acres, and we rarely need it for more than an hour at a time. Using the wheeled string trimmer is so much easier than using a "weed wacker" string trimmer. I am 63 and do not want to risk falling with a heavy piece of equipment. It is great to be able to pause and catch my breath with this wheeled string trimmer. I really like that it is quieter than our old gas powered machine. It is very convenient not to have to mix oil and gas, or pull a start chord. I can just push a button, and off I go!

I'm totally satisfied with the quality and performance of both units. I used them both this past week and so far they both performed actually better than I expected.
