It's normal for the cutting line to wear down as you use it, but the trimmer line can wear faster than you expect if you're cutting tough or thick weeds, if you're cutting against hard surfaces such as rocks and walls, or if the line is spinning too fast.
To preserve cutting line when cutting thick weeds or against hard surfaces, don't crowd the trimmer head into the area you're cutting. Instead, slide the cutting head slowly toward the cutting area so you use the tip of the cutting line. And ease off on the throttle to properly control the speed of the cutting head, especially when cutting against hard surfaces.

Worth it!!

I was a little skeptical to move over to electric but wow! This thing is powerful, quiet, and last way long. I have about 2,300sq/ft of lawn and I can edge it about 6 times. I love this thing. Next stop... them mower

Dream tool for dry terrain

We did not expect this to come in quite as useful as it has. We purchased this in summer and it has become an invaluable tool. Given the extreme fire danger this year (2020) and our proximity to a large wildfire, there was no using any gasoline powered tool for much of the summer and fall. But there was still yardwork and extra fire danger prevention work that needed done. This safe, battery powered tool not only was perfect under the circumstances but turned out to be much more powerful than we expected! It handily cut down thick grasses and the 4AH battery lasted much longer than expected. By the time it gave out we were ready for a break! The fact it just turns off and on without idling allowed us to put it down and pick it up often in places where we had to move fallen branches and stuff the dogs dragged in. Light, easy, and a workhorse, it made it possible to safely get things done.

So much better than gas!

I got tired of always having to work on my 2 cycle gas trimmer and finally went to this unit. Absolutely best trimmer I've ever had. Caused me to go buy a mower and blower as well. Greenworks produces great tools!

I have had a lot of trimmers in my 80 years and this 60V is well balanced and the strongest I have ever had.
The 60v battery holds a charge for a long time so you can get your work done without stalls.
