This replaced a gas trimmer. I've professionally maintained lawns over the years and this unit does a fantastic job competing with gas trimmers. I hated gas units for one reason - they would die on me if I was trimming side walks and the gas wasn't pumping right. This can be held in any direction. Battery life is not even a concern, I used this trimmer on my 1.2 acre property with trees and landscaping on the same battery as I used the pole saw earlier that day with no charge in between (testing out battery life). It's so quiet compared with a gas trimmer and does the job.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best trimmer I’ve EVER owned!

Just bought this a week ago, and have put in about 2 hours of work with this trimmer. I am extremely happy with this product. It’s very balanced and ergonomic, it’s incredibly quiet, and extremely easy to use. I won’t use any other brand for my outdoor tool needs

The casing/cover for the wire spool was really hard to get off when I needed more wire. Pushing in the two catches was extremely hard. Now it will not go back on as the two catches will not pop back through the two holes.
Bad design.
Very disappointing as I love my green works mower. But this trimmer was not a good purchase.

Really sorry to hear you had trouble. However we are a little confused.
This unit does not have pre-wound replacement spools as it is equipped with our quick load trimmer head. It was designed to be rewound by the user with 0.095" / 0.080" (2.4 mm / 2.0 mm) trimmer line. Be sure to refer to the instructions in your owner's manual for full instructions. Here is a video also: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cN7AWcI9wvY

String feeder problem

I purchased this string trimmer last week. When I tried it for the first time it works fine as a weed eater but the string will not feed as an edger; I laboriously opened the string spool and refed the string three times without success. The fourth time I gave up and successfully used it as a weed eater and the string fed great. Don’t know but I suspect it has something to do with horizontal vs perpendicular.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Lawn edger's are designed to cut edges and create boundary lines, whereas a string trimmer is designed to maintain those boundary lines. Both can help your lawn to look sharper. With that being said, adjust your grip so the head is tilted by 90 degrees and the string now spins along the vertical axis. The unit should now function as an edger.
