It's okay, I purchased to replace a 13" 60v Greenworks on which the motor bearings froze. I would give that one five stars, this one is ergonomically inferior, the debris shield is inferior to any string trimmer I've used and it doesn't have an edge guide or a option for an edge guide. The one I received also had wierdly used looking components even though the box was sealed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Seems to work OK with supplied string trimmer attachment - however, it DOES NOT WORK with my attachments. I have a Ryobi edger, hedge trimmer and other attachments - this unit DOES NOT work with them as described in Q&A about this unit. I am very disappointed, since this is why I selected this unit. I would like to return - guess I will have to purchase a replacement gas engine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have several Greenworks tools and bought this to replace my 8 year old gas trimmer. While I've only used this a couple of times, I have zero regrets so far!
Pro's:
Powerful! This doesn't bog down like my gas trimmer did, especially when using the edger attachment.
Lightweight. This is lighter than my gas trimmer and I like the included shoulder strap.
Attachment capable. I am able to use the same edger attachment that I used with my gas trimmer. This is a money saver. As mentioned already, I think this motor works much better than my gas one.
Quiet. I didn't expect it to be so quiet honestly. It's a littler weird, but in a good way.
No smell! This may seem odd, but using my gas trimmer for only a minute causes an "exhaust" smell to cling to my clothes. This is one reason I switched over to a greenworks gas blower; now I don't have to smell the fumes on my trimmer either!
Battery Life: I have a 2.5 Ah battery and I was able to trim and edge my yard with no problem.

Bought this for my dad after owning one myself for several years. I own 5 products in this 60V line and they are all excellent! This string trimmer is sturdy, the battery lasts more than long enough to finish your yard, and provides plenty of power! Added bonus that the string feed works properly with minimal breakage (unlike other brands I've used!).
Huge step up for those of you considering switching from gas powered. Minimal maintenance, no gas or oil to store, and you don't have to spend 30 minutes trying to get the machine to start!
