Over a nice iron without unnecessary electrical doodads/interfaces but with an annoying “guard”

Overall it’s a decent upgrade to the one mum used 20 years. It does feel cheaper, there is even a part that already seems loose next to the steam level lever. The “guard” around the base to make it less likely to tip is the only major complaint. It’s unnecessary and repeatedly catches when ironing.

I've now used this iron a few times after my recent purchase. The overall design seems good and it has good balance. The ergonomics of the on-demand steam and spray triggers are good and the soleplate allows the iron to glide well. One thing I'd like to have which I haven't located yet is an indicator of when the iron has reached the desired temperature setting. My old Rowenta had that clearly visible and I was surprised that this new model seemed to lack that feature.

Third Rowenta iron over 20 yrs. This one does what it is supposed to—irons clothing beautifully. But at a cost. It is heavy, poorly balanced with too much weight upfront, grip handle too wide for my average size hand, leaky when set on “steam” and sitting upright on the base plate.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My mom didnt want one made in China so i was forced to do some research and decided to go with this model. she initially thought it was too heavy for her as shes tiny, 5ft tall. When she put it to use, tge weight glided fairly easily and was surprised by the amount of steam. Good stuff! Merry christmas to my mom.

Cannot justify the cost of the iron, I was using classic iron which cost around 40 dollar which lasted for about 10 years and was using iron for about hour and half once every week.
This iron has 1800 watts but still doesn’t gets heated as compare to my old classic iron.
