HP replaced the 8139e I bought in August, 2025. It’s also built cheaply, colors are even less accurately reproduced. The motor makes all kind of noises and keeps running and running like it’s just spinning its gears. I’m very disappointed.
The printer is difficult to connect, has required multiple calls to HP support to re-establish a connection because once it is connected, it will not maintain the connection. Printer quality is below average, text is not sharp and colors are not accurate.
I used this printer for about six months. After the first few months I tried to purchase ink for it. The printer would only all HP brand ink cartridges which were marked up significantly higher than the other brands. Then I tried the Instant ink subscription. Which I didn’t go through enough in for that to make sense so after a month or two I cancelled it. Now the printer won’t print because it says it needs to have an ink subscription for it to be used. I literally have a printer that is cold shouldering/ black mailing me back into a subscription. It’s now sitting in the corner of my office and I’m using an old school Brother printer.
Easy setup and Network connection. Beautiful machine that's Easy to operate. Small form factor. All in 1 machine that's great for all around use. Instant ink is a plus. The price was awesome and shipping was fast. Free Instant ink for 6 months requires connection to Wi-Fi, not a deal breaker for me because I want Instant ink. I could say more but the machine speaks fir itself.
