I read the reviews before deciding whether to buy the chipper. Most of the reviews were positive so I ordered the it.
After trying it out over several weekends to reduce the size of my accumulated tree and shrub prunings piles, I could not be more satisfied with the machine. Most of the prunings up to the maximum size (1.7 in) were handled very easily by the chipper.
My piles contained prunings from several seasons so I was able to determine that it liked the current season's material best (i.e., not dried out). Older and more decomposed material didn't process as well - it fell apart before it could be chipped.
Now that I have the chipper and can process when the cuttings are produced rather than every few years, I shouldn't have any partially decomposed material.

It doesn't shred leaves - but then, it's not a shredder; that's a different machine.

We used it over the weekend, 3-4h without problems, the machine will take a short break whenever the bag got full. We chipped 2 huge piles of branches trimmed from 3 trees down to almost nothing! Once you get the hang of it, the pace and capacity, it goes relatively quickly as the machine self-feed. Rated 92dB, while not exactly quiet, it's not that bad with some earplugs. Just make sure the chute below doesn't get cloged up by keeping an eye on pile below. Seems to be well built with safety push to start/stop forward/stop/reverse controls.
