[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this mower last summer when it was fresh out in our area. It has been my best friend and I love using it. People drive-by, as I am mowing my yard and slow down and stare.

Only gets about 60% of advertised area per charge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mowed twice now with this mower and it does a really nice job. My reason for only three stars is it gets no where near the advertised 5.1 acres per charge. I have just under 3.8 acres to mow and I can get about 60% of that on a single charge assuming I use the lowest power level on both the blades and the drive. I do however have a rolling yard with a lot of up and down grade driving so I'm assuming that's part of the reason for less area per charge. I also have several bushes and trees and various obstacles to mow around which probably also lowers the acreage per charge. I would suspect if you have a flat 5 acres that only required back and forth mowing you would get closer to advertised mowing area.
Otherwise, I'm satisfied with the mower so far. The batteries charge to full charge in 2.5-3 hrs and the lights work great for after dark mowing to escape the summer heat. The only other thing you might offer would be tractor tires as an option rather than turf tires. On rolling ground, the mower does a lot of tire spinning and sliding.
Pros: Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

Hello JDC2071.
Thank you for sharing your experience. The maximum runtime often applies to a flat, open yard. Slopes and obstacles require more power, and users can expect running time to be less, if this is the case. Runtime measurements are also related to the condition of the grass and if it is well-maintained. Tall, thick grass requires more power, and you must mow it slower, consuming added runtime. Here are a few tips to ensure the max runtime is achieved. Ensure you charge the battery fully before each use, maintain the battery properly by cleaning terminals, avoid extreme temperatures during storage, consider buying a second battery for larger lawns, mow in a straight line, and choose a mower with a powerful battery suitable for your lawn size. If the grass has been left to exceed 4 inches, we advise that you raise the cutting height and cut no more than one-third of the length of grass at a time, wait a couple of days and do another one-third, cut when grass is dry and walk at steady pace to allow the blade to work more efficiently. As the lawn becomes consistently maintained you will see the cut and runtime improve. We hope others will find your review helpful. Good mower - disappointing battery time

Generally positive review except for the battery run time and lack of availability of spare 80V 16 Amp batteries. I posted a question about getting a spare battery but the answer was they are not availble on line or otherwise currently. I spoke to a superisor about getting one and am waiting for a reply. Some more details below.
Follow up to my original question about the batteries -- We recently purchased 2 of the 80V mowers, Models MZ548 and MZ608. We have 2 acres to mow using both mowers and can't quite finish on a single charge. This is much less than the advertised run time or number of acres they can mow. We get about 55 minutes on the MZ548 and about 70 minutes on the MZ608. This is about 30% less than the advertised run time.
I have called about getting 2 additional 80V 16A batteries ( Model LB80160). One spare / extra battery for each mower. I talked to one of the supervisors and hope to get an answer soon. It is disapointing to not be able to complete 2 acres with 2 mowers in one charge.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet

Great Mower

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this mower for a few weeks and I like it a lot. It does everything I need it to do as far a cutting grass is concerned. The batteries it came with should be plenty of power for most people. I would give it 5 stars BUT the trailer hitch in the rear is too high. I have a lawn trailer and a chipper that I tow and the hitch it about 5 inches too high for both and I think it would be too high for most pull behind items. The hitch height on the old mower was perfect. Also, it does not come with a mulch plug. The side discharge chute it comes with sticks WAY out from the side.
Pros: Easy to Use, Quiet, Environmentally Safe, Powerful

A working horse for cutting acres grass.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this mower a year ago, had 48 hour on and cut total 44 acres according the app so far.
Just changed the gear oil yesterday.
Overall this pretty good like a working horse.
The oil change is not very hard but also not very easy. The bolts are 12mm but are not mentioned in the manual. The torque 6-10 ft-lb may not be applicable, I'm afraid it could overturn and break the thread.
I was thinking of extracting the used oil out of the gearbox, but the open is too small to do it. The small opening is also very hard to add new oil. I have to use an injector to push it in.
To clean the deposits of wet grass on the mower shell is kind of difficult to do. I'm not sure if it's easy to take the bottom unit off the tractor then to clean it if needed. It could be easier to sharpen the blades or to replace it if I can take it down.
I used to rent a tractor mower to cut the grass before the fire season per local goverment requirement. Now I can control the grass with this CRT426.
Pros: Convenient, Cost-Saver, Easy to Use, Quiet, Durable, Environmentally Safe, Effective, Powerful
