Brother Fax Machine Evaluation

This is my third Brother fax machine (the 2820 prior to this one). I have used the Brother fax machines over a 12 year period and they have proven to be reliable and a very good product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good for the money and use

It was hard to find a laser fax, that was just that. Most new products will do too many things we did not need and for which we did not want to pay extra.

Smaller is sometimes better

This fax gets the job done - but is much larger than our the fax machine we had for 15 years which finally died on us. While the pages go thru quickly the time to actually send it is much longer. Also, it has the same ring tone as our phones so we keep picking up our phone thinking it is ringing - when it is just the fax machine.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nothing but trouble

This is my second IntelliFax-2840. The first one never gave me a second of trouble but this last one has been nothing BUT! I like this model but I guess I got a lemon. It seems to be resetting itself and you have to know every minute detail of what settings your machine likes with your particular phone line service. It comes with 4 preset rings to receive a fax but mine has to be set on one or it doesn't work. How am I supposed to know that. I've called Brother twice for assistance but they have always told me it was a problem with my line. Wel,l they were wrong both times.

This is a great printer!

Even though my paper feed stopped working when I first purchased it, it's still a Great printer. I spoke with Tech support for WAY too long, They sent me a new drawer, that's what I thought it might be, but it wasn't. The automatic paper feed still does not work. I just don't have the three hours it takes to sit on the phone with tech support ...Again...in order to get a refurbished printer to replace this one. Plus, this printer works so good I almost hat to give it up...even without the paper feed working.
Thank you Brother...But that's about as straight as I can give it to you.

EVERYTHING ABOUT THE 2840 IS GREAT EXCEPT THE LED IS IMPOSSIBLE TO READ WITH NORMAL LIGHT. i HAVE TO USE A FLASHLIGHT AND THEN IS IS NOT TOO CLEAR. CAN'T FIND ANY ADJUSTMENT FOR IT.
