I was under the impression when I bought this that I could turn the alarm sounds down to 0. I have not been able to do that. They will only go down to 1 which means I am woken up by irritating noises that I do not want to hear.

Hi Lianne,
Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We're sorry to hear that you're facing an issue with your Philips SmartSleep Wake-up Light Sound.
If you frequently wake up to the sound of an alarm, try increasing the light intensity level or extending the sunrise simulation time. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with our product development team to improve your experience in the future.

I live in the PNW, and those dark rainy days with little light are very difficult to wake up to. I hate the harsh wake ups from an alarm. I find with the wake-up light, I gently wake up before my alarm. I feel less groggy overall. I think it's helped with improving my mood as well. I've recommended this to everyone I know. People complain about how complicated it is to set up the alarm. I think this is true. I'm fine with it though. After initial set up, I didn't need to do much with it. The only thing I haven't been able to figure out is how to turn off the bird sounds on my second alarm - that's annoying but not a deal breaker.
Wasteful, do not buy this product. Died after only a few years use. Phillips you should be ashamed of this product, after reading other reviews many others had the same issue. Expensive investment for temporary product. Only apology that was offered was for 20% to spend more on a short lived product. Don’t waste your money! If I could give negative stars, I would.
Short life span. Power all of a sudden started flashing and wouldn’t turn off. Buttons stopped working. Less than 5 years old

Purchased this Smart sleep, sunrise clock for my son who has seizures, so the gentle light waking him up in the morning was perfect now. Unfortunately the clock has stopped working. We can leave it unplugged for about three or four days and it will come back on.. this was a very expensive clock to purchase, and I was hoping it would last longer than it has
