Product functions very well, the gradually increasing brightness has made waking up in the morning much less jarring, and I'm less prone to snoozing the alarm multiple times. The gradually decreasing light function is also nice and allows you to gradually drift off as the light dims rather than moving around to turn off a fully bright light right before trying to fall asleep.
The design looks really good, however I wish some of the buttons were slightly easier to feel when fumbling in the dark, but aesthetically, I do appreciate how clean the product looks, and the touch-only buttons on the front do make for a really slick design.
Learning how to operate the light is quite easy after reading through the directions, but does take a little practice to remember how to operate it smoothly or to access the more in depth functions, but it's not rocket science if you read the operating instructions.
Having the radio option is great, of course if there were an option to connect via bluetooth for music would be ideal, but regardless, I'd absolutely buy it again and have recommended it to others.
Pros: design, light quality, easier to wake up, fm radio, gradual dimming
I have mine set to wake me at 5:30. It's definitely dark at that time in the winter here in Minnesota and a little "sun rise" sure is nice to get me going. My eyes are a little sensitive so I have the brightness set to 10 (out of maximum 20) which is plenty to get me going. At about 5:00 am, it starts out with a very dim orange glow, and slowly increases brightness until 5:30 where it's at a brightness of 10. I then start hearing waves hitting the beach and the seagulls squawking. I've tried a few other sounds, but the waves hitting the beach is pretty awesome.
It's easy to just turn on the light in the evening which I have been using to read in bed in the evening. Crank the brightness up to 17 and it's plenty of light to read my book. You can also set a sleep timer so the light will turn off after a while if that book isn't keeping my attention.
I received this as a Christmas gift from my wife and have really enjoyed it.
Pros: customizable brightness, fun sounds to wake too, sleep timer
As a suffer from the seasonal blues, I thought I would try this to bring more sunlight into my life during the cold, dark months. After using it for about a month, I have to say I am waking up a lot better. It makes me feel like I'm gently waking from a nap laying out in the sun on a beach or in a field somewhere, especially with the accompanying nature sounds.
A few tweaks would make this product better: It's great that there's two alarms; it would be greater if you could designate them for weekday, weekend or everyday use so I don't have to remember to change alarms when the weekend rolls around. Also, and maybe I'm missing this, I don't think the alarm automatically shuts off after a certain time. It would be nice if after an hour or so it would shut off and reset itself. An aux-in port would be nice too.
All in all I enjoy this product, but for the money I wish it were a little easier to use and have the functions I mentioned.
Pros: wake up more refreshed, sunrise simulation
Cons: not intuitive to use, too easy to disturb settings on touchscreen
This clock is a great alternative to traditional alarms. It doesn't always wake me up with the light before the audio comes on, but it is sure much nicer than a blaring alarm. It is a pleasant light that is easy to adjust to and nice to already have a light on when you get up. Good features though I do wish for the price it cost that it had programmable automatic days of the week instead of having to turn the alarm off and back on every morning. Sounds are nice but could use a few more. Perhaps I'm just easily bored. If I could mount this one in the east facing window you could almost be fooled into thinking it is the real sunrise. I've gone thru countless alarm clocks over the years. This one might be a keeper!
Pros: simple to figure out, nice warm light, good shape and design, clock display is not too bright for sleep
Cons: a little spendy, needs more robust alarm programming, could use more sounds
Wakes me up in such way that I am just suddenly realizing that I am awake, no "angrily" trying to turn of an alarm clock to go back to sleep, simply, awake and ready to go. This product made my 5AM wake up time move from feeling hard to being something I don't even think of anymore. Super happy with this.
(the buttons on the device are slightly hard to tell apart, and you should really read the very short manual to get the most out of this device as the UI is not the most initiative)
I feel stupid, have had the unit for 4 days. STILL cannot correctly program it to do anything except tell the time. I must have tried 10 times! Very complicated directions and I have never had an item frustrate me as much! Will call help line tomorrow and wish me luck because I am mostly deaf.
