A great way to wake up and also get to sleep

I have mine set to wake me at 5:30. It's definitely dark at that time in the winter here in Minnesota and a little "sun rise" sure is nice to get me going.
My eyes are a little sensitive so I have the brightness set to 10 (out of maximum 20) which is plenty to get me going. At about 5:00 am, it starts out with a very dim orange glow, and slowly increases brightness until 5:30 where it's at a brightness of 10. I then start hearing waves hitting the beach and the seagulls squawking.
I've tried a few other sounds, but the waves hitting the beach is pretty awesome.
It's easy to just turn on the light in the evening which I have been using to read in bed in the evening. Crank the brightness up to 17 and it's plenty of light to read my book. You can also set a sleep timer so the light will turn off after a while if that book isn't keeping my attention.
I received this as a Christmas gift from my wife and have really enjoyed it.
Pros: customizable brightness, fun sounds to wake too, sleep timer

A Better Way to Wake Up
on January 18, 2017

As a suffer from the seasonal blues, I thought I would try this to bring more sunlight into my life during the cold, dark months. After using it for about a month, I have to say I am waking up a lot better. It makes me feel like I'm gently waking from a nap laying out in the sun on a beach or in a field somewhere, especially with the accompanying nature sounds.
A few tweaks would make this product better: It's great that there's two alarms; it would be greater if you could designate them for weekday, weekend or everyday use so I don't have to remember to change alarms when the weekend rolls around. Also, and maybe I'm missing this, I don't think the alarm automatically shuts off after a certain time. It would be nice if after an hour or so it would shut off and reset itself. An aux-in port would be nice too.
All in all I enjoy this product, but for the money I wish it were a little easier to use and have the functions I mentioned.
Pros: wake up more refreshed, sunrise simulation
Cons: not intuitive to use, too easy to disturb settings on touchscreen

nice alarm alternative to traditional

This clock is a great alternative to traditional alarms. It doesn't always wake me up with the light before the audio comes on, but it is sure much nicer than a blaring alarm. It is a pleasant light that is easy to adjust to and nice to already have a light on when you get up. Good features though I do wish for the price it cost that it had programmable automatic days of the week instead of having to turn the alarm off and back on every morning. Sounds are nice but could use a few more. Perhaps I'm just easily bored. If I could mount this one in the east facing window you could almost be fooled into thinking it is the real sunrise. I've gone thru countless alarm clocks over the years. This one might be a keeper!
Pros: simple to figure out, nice warm light, good shape and design, clock display is not too bright for sleep
Cons: a little spendy, needs more robust alarm programming, could use more sounds

Money well spent!

Wakes me up in such way that I am just suddenly realizing that I am awake, no "angrily" trying to turn of an alarm clock to go back to sleep, simply, awake and ready to go.
This product made my 5AM wake up time move from feeling hard to being something I don't even think of anymore.
Super happy with this.
(the buttons on the device are slightly hard to tell apart, and you should really read the very short manual to get the most out of this device as the UI is not the most initiative)
Pros: works amazingly well
Cons: kind of hard to tell where the buttons are

Fail to program

I feel stupid, have had the unit for 4 days. STILL cannot correctly program it to do anything except tell the time. I must have tried 10 times! Very complicated directions and I have never had an item frustrate me as much! Will call help line tomorrow and wish me luck because I am mostly deaf.

Great Idea, Middling Performance, Too Expensive

I love the idea of this alarm clock & lamp, and the design is beautiful. Very aesthetic. But when it comes to actually using the thing, it comes up short. First, be aware that this thing is huge. It will take up quite the footprint on your nightstand. I suppose the size is warranted, however, because you will be reaching for it in a groggy state. That said, then, the rim of the lamp is encircled in tiny buttons that are not easy to distinguish in that same groggy state— nor are they marked in any way visible to the front of the device. Turning the alarm(s) on and off seems to be more of a hassle than it should be. Finally, as far as my negatives go, the pictures and the product description describe the snooze function as if all you have to do is gently graze the lamp with a finger or two. Doing this, I was unable to trigger the snooze for several days. Finally I figured out that you have to give the front face a nice little thump to trigger the snooze. You're not going to coldcock the device, just give it thump with your finger. Most mornings it takes me a few thumps before I get it right.
All that said, does the combination of lamp and alarm do what it promises to do? Maybe. It will doubtlessly vary from individual to individual. I struggle to get out of bed most days, but I find since using this alarm that I can generally get out of bed with fewer snooze resets. Additionally, I don't seem to be as groggy when I do get up.
Wrapping things up, we come to the price. I bought the top-level model. Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't make the same choice again. I might evaluate the low-end model to see if it does everything that I find I use, but the top-end model is simply way too expensive. You get a few added features in the top-end model, but not enough added features to justify the price.
Pros: beautiful design, adding some light therapy to the alarm is great, different button sets for different alarms is nice
Cons: too expensive, you have to thump the device to trigger the snooze, too many uneasily identified buttons, turning alarms on and off seems too complicated
