This is a new take on the alarm clock, which marries simulated sunrise with various sounds. It's perfect for those who want a gentle nudge to wake up. The flaw is the difficulty in finding the right buttons to turn off the light and the sound. I haven't tried the mode that would gradually dim the light and put you to sleep. As you can tell, there are several interesting features.
The light and design and sounds are really cool. But how can you make an alarm clock without a battery backup. I bought this without knowing it, didn't think I'd have to ask. I have to set a second alarm on my phone just in the rare instance that the power goes out. If it had a backup, it would be an easy 5 stars.
Pros: cool wake up features, buttons are easy, wake up sounds are unique
This product is a great idea for people living in the northern hemisphere or have a lack of natural lighting in their room. The color and brightness are great but when compared to other philips products I can't help but wonder why not make it smart home compatible and add more colors that you can customize. The biggest problem though goes into its design. Like other customers I feel this product needs to go back and think about what it means to be an alarm clock. It has now battery backup in case of power outage. Something common during the winter when blizzards roll in. And it's not the easiest to set, turn on, or to put on snooze
I really wanted to like this alarm, but it's utterly complicated and irritating to use. After a few weeks you get bored with the sounds. You would like to use the radio to wake up instead, but the reception is poor and the volume is too loud. The light is nice, but not as powerful as expected. I now use it as an expensive lamp and wake up with my mobile phone instead.
