Have had this grill for 3 months. My opinion is that it does and excellent job, but you need to get used to using it. Flareups are considerable, especially at the right and left ends, so keep a close eye on hamburgers, rib steaks or other fatty items. The grill can hit over 500 degrees, easily, making the sear station unnecessary for most steaks, unless you want a sear on a very rare steak.
There is no storage location for the rotisserie rod, so I added a couple of stainless hooks to two existing screws on the back. Works great and is something Napoleon could add to their grills.
Lights may be nice, but during the long summer daylight hours all of my grilling is done while it is light out. May be of use in the fall.
BTW - You can put it together by yourself and get the firebox on it without another person. Just take the lid off to lighten the load. Easy.
Grates do need complete wash in sink or dishwasher after every couple of grills, mainly to remove residue on the bottom and sides of the rods.
I use a pellet smoker box for smoking rather than the Napoleon chip box.
So enjoying our new Napoleon Prestige PRO 500!! Lots of new details and improvements....moves so easily, love the internal lights...heats up very quickly. Have used, with AAA+ results, the rotisserie, the kabob accessory, the basket attachment, the beer can chicken (fabulous! The veggies were perfect and the gravy? Delicious). Clean up is easy. Looking forward to trying the smoke box! I mentioned "new details and improvements"....our last Napoleon BBQ lasted nearly 22 years!!!
Grilling grates are great can do left, right or center only or all at the same time. Side infrared grill great for searing or a quick cook, but its drainage catch pan needs redesign The cooking drainage system needs improvements. Aluminum insert is wonky easily bends and hard to clean and reuse, and maybe they just want you to buy extra aluminum inserts. Also does not slide in easily the wiring often interferes with the reinstall.
Great grill, comes with rotisserie. The lighting inside and out is a nice touch, especially the Napoleon logo that projects onto the ground in front. It easily gets up to 700 degrees for a great sear on steaks, rotisserie is the perfect speed for chickens and prime rib, love it so far!
