Totally worth it!

Was recommended by a friend. It's really a good choice. This vacuum totally worth it! Some rooms are carpeted and we have a dog, this vacuum works perfectly without any problem. The suction is great, it picks up so much dirt every day. APP is easy to use. It draws a correct map of our house in a few minutes and we can program on that. You can set no-go zones and edit the rooms. It can even show a 3D map which is pretty cool! My husband loves that. The noise is acceptable, much better than my old robot vacuum. Love it!

Great new house gift

When I noticed my brother's new house is carpeted almost the whole floor, I got the idea that I could prepare the gift of Roborock Q5 vacuum robot to him. I have to say, that is really a good choice.
He sent me a cute video yesterday, my nephew was clicking the App button to control the robot easily, and shouted, Go go go super Mr. Q, let's clean up the earth. What an energetic little warrior and what an amazing robot. And my sister-in-law thanked me that Q5 helps her carpet cleaning, she will never worry about the cookies hidden in the carpet because of the powerful 2700Pa suction. I believe they do love it so much.

No doubt that this is the most efficient robot vacuum cleaner I've ever bought. The excellent cleaning effect and smart device really left me a great impression. With its strong suction, my home is much cleaner than before and I am so happy with that.

The Roborock Q5 is a great value.

The APP is incredibly user-friendly and straightforward, making it simple to create timetables and divide the map into distinct sections. It was also rather easy to set up on my wifi, which is typically the biggest hassle with smart gadgets, but Roborock has discovered a dependable way to accomplish it. As soon as you set up your vacuum, be sure to go to the settings page and update the firmware to receive the best cleaning algorithms.
Excellent cleaning performance is apparent. It doesn't seem to have any trouble collecting up all the pet hair, whether it's on carpet or hardwood, despite the fact that I have a dog and two cats. When it touches the carpets, it consistently shifts to the strongest suction.

Awesome Vac

The Roborock Q5 is amazing robotic sweeper. The sweeper came very well packed and was a breeze to set up and get started. It comes with complete instructions. The app is easy to download and set up. The vac will quickly map the room and store it on your app. You can easily set no-go zones that will prevent the vac from going into areas you don’t want to vacuum which could be a host of reasons. For instance if you have plants that reach the floor you may want to protect that area with a no-go zone. The room names can be customized as well which I think is a nice feature. The software does a really good job at separating the rooms but if you want to adjust the room borders it is easy to make the adjustment. The Q5 has a LIDAR module on to allow it to map your rooms and understand its location in them. This means that it won’t have to bounce around from wall to wall hoping to hit every nook and cranny like some robots do. There is a power button and a home button on top of the robot near the front. These buttons serve as manual options for turning the robot off and returning it to the dock, but also have secondary functions that can come in handy. A single tap of the power button will pause the current cleaning session, and pressing it again will unpause it. If the home button is held down for five seconds, the robot will initiate a “spot clean” in a roughly five square foot radius.
It also had no problem navigating across uneven terrain such as the 1/2" jump from my linoleum to the carpet. Please see the video attached to this review. It is impressive how quiet this sweeper while not sacrificing power.
There are only two buttons on the vacuum itself: home and power. The power button turns the robot on and off, and it can also start a cleaning cycle with a long-press. The home button will send the Q5+ back to the dock with a press and start spot cleaning with a long-press. I appreciate that you can trigger that function without even opening the app. There's one edge brush on the left front quadrant, and it's got durable rubber bristles.
The vacuum is extremely easy to empty as well. This vacuum is a great value for the money. This vac does not have a mop feature which is another reason that the price can be set as low as it is. Overall, the Roborock Q5 delivers on what it promises. It’s a high-performance vacuum cleaner that has all the capabilities you’d expect a smart device like this to have. Not only that, but some of its more premium features can only be found on competitors with much higher price tags. I will definitely be recommending this to my family and friends. Roborock is a solid company and has delivered another winner!

this is my first time trying a robot vacuum, and I never thought that it would be this useful. So the thing I liked most about this robot vacuum is the suction power, the pathing and how it avoids the obstacles. I also found the app easy to use.

Great Product at Great Price

I am an owner of Roborock S6 and S6 Max, in the past, I have tried various models of Roomba, but Roborock's performance is far superior to Roomba's. On one of my floors, I don't use the mop feature a lot, so I decided to give this a try. As with all Roborock products, this came in a box well packed, in overall size this is a bit smaller than the earlier versions (S6, S7) which is great as it allows it to move around the furniture more efficiently. It includes a charging base and the robot vacuum itself. There is no assembly required, just plug the base in an electrical outlet and place the robot for charging. There are a few things that are different about this vacuum than the other Roborock vacuums I have tried. First, the charging cord for a base is a bit different and has a voltage converter in the cord instead of being in the base. Second, the dustbin is built into the plate which hides it, which makes emptying the dustbin a bit painful. Overall, the build quality for this robot feels a bit lower as compared to other Roborock vacuums but that is to be expected when it is almost $250 cheaper. This vacuum offers much higher such than my S6 and S6 Max which is a big plus. I ran into challenges connecting the vacuum to the app but part of it was me not paying attention to the instructions as the setup process is a little different than the other Roborock vacuums. On the back of the big whiteboard which comes in the box installation instructions are clear but the user manual which comes in the box doesn't seem to belong to this model but to the older models. Surprisingly in the app, it doesn't show the Q5 model as one of the supported models but once I was able to follow the instructions, connectivity was easily established.
Cleaning
I did the first mapping run, and it very quickly mapped the floor, I felt its mapping was much more efficient than other vacuums as it didn't go along every single wall and efficiently mapped the rooms using a LIDAR sensor. I didn't feel that missing the camera created any issues with mapping, but it did bump into some low-lying obstacles. One of the big things about this robot is that it can climb shag carpets and thick doormats which most the other vacuums can't. My Roborock S6 never was able to get onto them but this managed to climb them easily and clean them. The suction power on this vacuum is great and it can easily suck up large debris. A floating brush is great as it allows it to stay close to the uneven floor, especially when transitioning between rooms. One of the challenges I did run into was that its brush got entangled in the shag carpet and I had to come to the rescue. This is a bit of a unique situation as I have this shag carpet in the middle of the room so when trying to clean the floor around it rubber side brush gets entangled in the long bristles of the shag carpet. I had to create a virtual boundary to solve the problem which was easy. Talking of virtual boundaries, software for Roborock is superior to the competitors. The default map is good at identifying rooms and various floors, but any edits needed are easy and quick. I have used the Roomba i7 and it is miles behind Roborock software. It is easy to connect it to google home and use voice commands. I am impressed with the suction power on this vacuum, it is much more than the previous and costlier model and does a great job of cleaning the carpets.
Overall, there are things that can be improved on this model but for the price, it is easily the best robot vacuum available. This product has its quirks but I will recommend it over anything else on the market.
