It cleans perfectly, it doesn't miss a piece, it doesn't crash, it doesn't get tangled, it always returns to the base and it doesn't make much noise. What more could you ask for?
I have it scheduled from Monday to Friday (the days I'm not at home in the morning) and the truth is that when we come back we don't see a lint or a piece of anything on the floor. I recommend it 100%, very happy.

A bit of dirt in the corners after cleaning

I always found a bit of dirt in the corners after cleaning - The Q5 robot vacuum cleaner can’t reach it because of its round shape.

Another great robot vacuum from Roborock
on July 7, 2022
Posted by: S Vutukuri
This is our second Roborock vacuum, we bought this to use upstairs, so we don't have to keep moving one vacuum (Roborock S6) upstairs and downstairs. Since we don't have hardwood floor upstairs don't need wet mop and this perfectly vacuum suffice for our needs.
The robot came in nice package with QuickStart guide that has simple instructions on how to get started and a cleaning tool which is necessary to clean and maintain the robot, the robot comes assembled and will start charging once places on docking station. Need to download app from Appstore/Play store to operate the vacuum and setting up the app was breeze and easily mapped the whole floor with multiple rooms without any issues, it did a great job of vacuuming including hair, dust, crumbs and also did solid job of cleaning rugs and carpet. As this robot uses LIDAR and cliff sensors, it won't aimlessly slam into walls and spin in circles but effectively navigate floor to map precisely. The robot is very easy to use, there are two physical buttons, one is power button and another one is home button on top of robot for manual operations in case needed while phone is not in hand. The voice alerts notify about the power and charging status of the robot. Its dustbin is one piece where top cover is connected over the container. In order to empty dustbin, have to remove the back filter. This vacuum has single five-pronged side brush to sweep dust underneath it and primary brush roll. It has decent suction power with several suction modes including quiet, balanced, turbo and max. The battery life is about 3 hours on full charge which is plenty for our needs. Once the battery drops to 20% it will automatically dock itself to charge.
This vacuum is compatible with existing Roborock app we use for S6 which has lot of features and app is stable and comprehensive with lots of features. The app has live map with 3D option which provides bird's eye view of robot's cleaning status with area its cleaned and duration. The mapping is pretty accurate and allows to do a lot with the robot. In the app, easy to create invisible walls and no-go zones where you don't want robot to go. This is really neat feature as my kids build lot of Legos and leave on floor. The app can save up to four map levels, has selective room and zone cleaning. Selective room cleaning allows to clean only selected room or area for example just kids bedroom/guest bedroom. Zoned cleaning lets choose a selected square/rectangle area within the map to vacuum. Spot clean option also very handy for quick clean up after kids mess, cleaning near dining area after meals. The robot also can be controlled with remote control on the app. The latest firmware update brings new feature, off-peak charging which is nice. We are quite happy with the purchase and would highly recommend this robot as it is affordable and has great functionality.

This is exactly what I want

To be honest, I didn't expect too much from the start. But this bot really surprised me especially its customized cleaning routine function. By placing a box in the app, you can customize a cleaning area. This is definately a time saver for lazy people.

Awesome robot!

My old Shark robot was broken and then my old sister recommended me the Roborock Q5. My floor is mostly full with low-pile carpet. When I look for it online, I noticed that this robot is for vacuuming only, and it's within my budget. When I received it last week, it's easy to setup with Roborock app and it vacuums my floor well. However, I’m not sure why it took a long time to vacuum my home. Finally, I got the answer from the kindly and patience Roborock support, they explained the running time is shorter than the normal one when the carpet boost mode is enabled for my carpet at home. In a word, it works well for my 1000sq ft apartment.

Strong suction power

Used this robot for a couple of times and very satisfied with its performance!
Most areas of my apartment are carpeted, so I've chosen this model as I don't need to get them mopped. When working on the carpet, it can picked up most of the hairs dropped from my cats and I don't need to suck with my previous stick vacuum anymore.
The mapping and zone cleaning feature is basically a plus, I can easily decide where to vacuum with those features. This is how a "robot" should be like.

Great robot vaccum with good App and suction

Great robot vacuum. Really happy with the purchase of the Q5. Its an entry level Roborock with an optional self-clean dustbin. First, I should say the MAP is really good. Works very well. The Wi-Fi should be a 2.4ghz though. It won’t connect to 5ghz Wi-Fi. After connecting the robot with 2.4ghz it does a quick mapping of the Apartment. I should say I was thoroughly impressed with the mapping. It went to all the rooms and showed a very accurate map, and the mapping is kind of 3D. I was shocked to see the amount of dirt it captured on the first run. It went to all the different room. Some rooms have height difference and Roborock went through it pretty well. The App can categorize different rooms and it also have the different floor features as well. I can actually specify no go zones where the robot won’t go. The main advantage I feel is I can schedule the cleaning like when I go to the office, I schedule the clean and when I come back its spot clean. The suction is good, and it picks up all the dust and debris. I was really shocked with the amount of dust I saw after the first clean. I can’t really comment on the battery power as I am having a small Apartment and it does all the rooms in one go. Another thing to note is that it has different suctions on hardwood and rugs. When the Roborock enters a rug, it uses maximum power to suck the dust and in hardwood it uses regular power. This suction is automatic, and you don’t have to do anything. Also, the suction is not too loud, so you don’t get too annoyed when watching TV and robot is running. It uses the old Roborock brush roller not like the one we see in s7 and s7 max. I think the LIDAR robot vacuums does a better job in mapping and cleaning than those with radar. You can also add the device to Siri shortcuts and trigger the robot. Here are the main pros and cons
Pro
1.Robot cleans very well
2.App is really good
3. App has schedules where we can schedule the device for cleaning
4.It also has no go zones which helps with the cables
5.If you don’t want to clean the entire Apartment you can do it with just the room
6.It also have support for Auto empty dock which I am planning to get in the future.
7. Max suction on rugs and carpets
8.You can use Siri shortcut and trigger it
Cons
1. It may not detect poop. I don’t have a pet, but I am not sure if it is able to detect it.
2. It does not have a mop.
3. It uses old roller. I don’t not have any complaints for the old roller, but I wish it had the new one
4. You cannot add it to the HomeKit

A powerful tool
on July 4, 2022

Q5 is my first robot vacuum cleaner. Before I bought it, I was skeptical about its performance. Because I am used to doing my house cleaning manually. I don't think a robot vacuum cleaner could do better than me. After doing some reaches online, finally, I decide to buy it. Because I don't have many carpets in my 700 square feet apart, and I don't need the mopping feature, I choose this model. Honestly, this little thing changed my mind totally. It cleans the floor in a systematically way to cover the whole areas. It could even go under the bed or sofa areas where I couldn't reach. What's more, it supports auto-empty feature. That really saves your time to empty the bin manually. I don't test it on the carpet, and don't know if it could vacuum the carpets well or not. Definitely, I will try it in the next a few cleaning sessions. Till now, I am totally satisfied with it. By the way, I name it 'Poggy'. It's already one of my family members. Ahaha!!!
