After reading the reviews I thought the speaker was going to be louder than what it is. The color is beautiful the charging port is super convenient but overall the volume is okay at best. Not as loud as I thought it would be.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the charge for two weeks ago. Free shipping took only three days. I was thrilled with the look, sound and portability. I can see a second charge four in my near future.
