I am so pleased with the quality of the JBL Charge speaker. I have taken mine paddleboarding where it got splashed with water (not submerged), it has been dropped once from about 4 feet and survived, and used nearly daily at home and while adventuring. While I try to ensure that it's well taken care of, there are accidents, and it has withstood those accidents and still plays as if brand new!
This is a horrible speaker DO NOT BUY! I have had this for less than 1 month and it broke right on me. If you are looking to buy this speaker go and see a doctor right away.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Long lasting battery, wonderful sound quality, and great design. However, it's 2020, and 2019 when this device came out, why does it not have Bluetooth 5.0? That's basically my only gripe with if, but otherwise this is worth it
I love it so much! Its absolutely amazing!! Its worth every penny!! The bass and sound on it is just INCREDIBLE!! If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would!
I bought it less than a month ago, and everything works great, except for the waterproof capabilities. When I submerged it into water it seemed to work just fine, afterwards I realised that it sounded very stuffy but I thought its normal and i should let it dry. After 1 hour I played a song on it, and i realized that the passive radiators sounded like they were having water inside them, and the bass was terrible. What is even odder is the fact that the radiators, when they should expand at the bass drop, they retreat inside, towards the speaker. Unfortunately, that happened yesterday and the water still hasnt dryed.... At max volume the speaker sounds like its on Low Frequency Mode, even if its not, and when i activate LFW its a direct earrape. Kinda dissapointed. Two of my friends have the same speaker, Charge 4, and both have problems with it. I hope i wont become the third one with a defect speaker.
I bought the charge 4 for college and it works great! We have the charge 3 at home already but I knew that I wanted another JBL speaker for my dorm because it’s waterproof and the sound is great for hanging out, parties, the beach, vibing, you name it. Even if you got a “refurbished” one it is still a great purchase and you would never be able to tell the difference.
