It's good but you can guys could add a little more range my phone literally has to be next to the speaker for it to play the JBL Flip 4 is better on range but the speaker is loud and great only needs more range
I've had this for two years now and love it. I have a full stereo from the 1980s that is too loud to play without complaints from the wife and neighbors. This works great for me. Clear sound, great battery power, and portable. I set it up in the yard when I am working and can carry it inside or anywhere else I need music without anyone complaining. I have bad ears from my fourth row seats for the Ted Nugent Double Live Gonzo concert and being in the Army for 25 years. I would recommend the charge 4. I just ordered the Xtreme 2 to connect to the TV rather than a non-portable sound bar.
Bought a refurbished Charge 4 about two weeks ago. I am very impressed with the sound quality and the portability of the speaker. The problem comes in trying to get my speaker to charge. I've had it plugged in for over a day and the battery will not charge, even after using different cables. Very disappointed. I will be sending this back.

Using the JBL Connect app to enable the “party” & “stereo” feature using two Charge 4 speakers is still a choppy, inconsistent experience at best. The app rarely properly detects both speakers so it almost never successfully allows the “stereo” feature to even appear on the app. I’ve tried endles workflow combinations of connecting to speakers, hitting the link buttons on the speakers, updating the app, disabling bluetooth on nearby devices. IF the stereo feature manages to connect, it actually causes the music playback to sound static-like, choppy, and randomly accelerate and slow the music. Just an awful experience and no improvement in paired speaker experience versus the Charge 3.
