I liked it enough to buy a second Charge 4

I received my gray camo Charge 4 and used it for about a week. I liked it enough that I bought a green camo Charge 4. I go on a canoe/ float trip annually. 8 miles on about 8 hours. Brought the Charge 4's & they worked out great. People even made comments how well they sounded. If I was going to do anything different in designing these, I would add a hook attached to the speaker to have the ability to secure it down. On our trip I just put a strap across the top of the cooler to hold it down & it worked out. Great product see another post of mine under LJC
My only reservations are that it does not support assisstants, but that feature is available on the charge 3, so there's that option anyways. Another minor inconvenience is that when it is submerged under water, sound quality suddenly becomes awful. I guess that that is expectable since sound waves don't travel at the same speed in water, but I don't really recommend it as a pool accessory. It is completely submergeable thought.
Who in Marketing/R&D is listening to these before they finalize voicing? Great apparent build, good controls interface, but bass is so muddy it drowns out Vocals
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Got it as a gift. Just 2 months in. It would not hold a charge.

Hi Jackie, thanks for the review. Please try to use a different USB Type C cable and power adapter. Try to charge it for at least 5 hours and observe if it will still not hold a charge. If you need more help, please submit a case request so that we can assist you: http://www.jbl.com/support-contact.html
I have an HK Onyx 2 and a JBL Charge 3 already. The JBL Charge 3 & 4 both are little bright in their sound quality compared to the Onyx which as extraordinary sound quality. That said, i view it as a trade off for the waterproof factor. Overall quality of the product is great.
