I have been a lover of JBL products for years. My first bad review out of many units I have owned. I have 2 charge 3’s and 2 charge 2’s, one of which had an issue and JBL took care of it no problem. Now I want to upgrade and get the latest and greatest with the charge 4. I think the Charge 3 is the best portable waterproof available. And as an outdoor industry rep my original 3 has been through the ringer, down rivers, snow, hot tubs etc... so I get the 4, not knowing that the charge cord has changed from the micro to who knows what. So on a multi day trip in the desert, guess what happens, no new cord, the 4 is dead, and I left my others behind due to space. F that, whomever had the brain lapse at JBL to change a charge cord that doesn’t mix with your existing product line, your an idiot or apple and want everyone to purchase new cords. But for those of us that use products in the real outside world and charge our units with solar rolling down the road on new adventures, we don’t want to have to add another new cord, because it sounded good in a meeting. Losing my tunes for the last 6 days did stink
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We appreciate your honest review. The charging port was updated to USB Type-C due to more users requested it as a new standard. We understand that the new charging design didn't meet your expectations. We're always looking for ways to improve so we'll make sure to submit your feedback to the right department.
I bought my speaker about 2 weeks ago, I contemplated on whether or not I should make a purchase. It stayed on my mind for 2 days. I finally gave in & it was the best purchase! I love the bass, I LOVE the color, I love the size, & I especially love how loud it gets!
I bought the JBL charge 4 camo for my husband for his birthday. He loved it... The only thing we dislike about the charge 4 is it says on the box and instrution manual that if the speaker is fully charged it can last for 20 something hours. We took it to the beach fully charged and it didnt last that long more like 6-7 hours. Also speaker isnt that loud as I thought it would be. But other then that its a good speaker.
I would recommend this to a friend!
