I’ve had this blender for more than 10 years! I just love it and can’t love without it! The motor runs great so far! Have only replaced the jar just once, which was within the warranty period. I bought the mini jar which

Blendtec total blender wildside jar

Although my blender is past warranty, I have only used it 137 times. Today the gasket in the bottom of the jar shredded, and the jar now leaks. A replacement jar is way overpriced and will not pay the price for a new one. Too bad, the blender worked well but spent significant money on the initial purchase.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks to the brilliant marketing via the "Will it Blend" videos of the 00s/10s, I have always thought of Blendtec when thinking of blenders. My wife was perfectly happy with our current blender, however, so my needs went unsatisfied. We're now divorced.
Unburdened, I am now the proud owner of a Blendtec Blender, and spend my days blending while humming the "Will it Blend" theme, and going "Margarita smoke. Don't breath this." when pouring a tasty blended drink. Life is great, indeed.
