weak...overheated with smoke!

It works great for smoothies, soups, etc, but I tried to use the Twister jar to make almond butter which is advertised to do nut butters, and this happened. I wanted to make my own almond butter; I started with some pre-made almond butter from Costco, and added more almonds, and couple of other ingredients. After adding everything to the jar, I used the batter cycle. the motor barely moved a few rounds and stopped. I used the twister and a spoon to manually mix the blend. I also used the manual speed of 1.
The engine was so weak to blend this, and after some trials, it game me an 'Overload' error. After more manual mixing, the blender started to operate more, but very slow. It was shaking; I could see the LCD par moving inside of the body!

After some more blending, the motor started to smoke with a bad smell, and it showed a 'Over Temperature' message. It was indeed hot. This blender is advertised to be more powerful than competition, and do nut butter. However it obviously cannot do that.
It's worth mentioning my friend had the same exact experience using the WildSide jar.

My sister had one of these and I thought, "it's just a blender...." after using it I thought it was pretty cool but still not totally convinced. Long story short my sister bought me (and my husband) one for our wedding. We were shopping at Costco one sunny day when we saw BLENDTEC rep Kiersta Bailey doing her thing. She showed us so many cool ways to use the blender and even shared recipes she made herself with us! I can honestly say we use this everyday in our household. I used to always think we needed a standing mixer to complete our kitchen but honestly, who needs a standing mixer when you have a BLENDTEC?! We decided we loved it so much we bought one for my father in law for Father's day. Best. Gift. Ever.
