I have been wanting a cordless vac for some time, as I more often sweep my hardwood floors (as opposed to getting out the heavy upright vac), which often feels like rearranging the dust. I am very happy with my Detect! It is light and able to get into and under more spaces, quieter than my upright vac, automatically detects and adjusts for carpet, and I still get pleasantly surprised that the cord isn't in the way! My broom will be sad, but I am happy.

This was a huge investment for me - I had wanted one for years and was not ready to spend that much on a vacuum. I saved some and finally bit the bullet and I am so happy I did. I have a 2 year old, a husky/german shepherd mix so my floors are always littered with dog hair or crumbs. I have mostly carpet, some hardwood. My floors are left clean and the versatility of the vacuum is so worth the price tag.

I bought my Dyson v15 is about 3 weeks ago. Love it for its mobility, suction is great and the laser visual I get but the reason I gave it 3 stars is that it does not pick up closely enough to baseboards and furniture legs as I would like and as my previous upright did. Also would love to see a lock on the trigger.

I love the powerful suction that this cordless vacuum has. The only thing that would give it 5 stars would be a larger container to hold all the dust, dander and pet hair! If you come out with an attachment for this I would definitely buy it.
