Pay attention to the reviews. The unit is heavy and the run button that doesn't stay turn on makes it a bit of a pain to operate. If you do not have good upper body strength do not get this unit.
It cleans get and I was surprised by the amount of dirt it got out of my carpet.
Overall it is a good machine.

It’s too easy! I love the the green light on the attachment for sweeping, it’s so satisfying to be able to see what’s on the floor and see it gone. I literally use it everyday

I bought this unit about a month ago. It is awesome in most respects. I am wondering how to keep the dust that is gathered from coming up into the top half of the part I can see. Supposedly there is a limit on the amount of dust that the lower half should have, but if it comes on up, is that a problem?

Don't purchase this item if you have OCD. I didn't realize I suffer from this disorder until I started using the product. I now find how truly dirty my floors are and they require me to mop them at least weekly if not more often. I have become a slave to my dyson and my floor mop. I see floor dirt without even looking for it! My life is in turmoil.

I’m a little disappointed in the multipurpose head. The suction is too strong to use with my low pile rugs. I’ve used the hard floor attachment on them but don’t feel it’s the appropriate way to clean them. I do love it for my hard floors.

I purchased The Dyson V15 Detect vacuum about two weeks ago and absolutely Love it!!! I have the Dyson V15 absolute but find that too heavy for me. I use the absolute upstairs and bought the Detect for my main floor.
Right after I vacuumed the downstairs with an old Dyson i had I vacuumed the same floors with the Detect - Wow, did it show me where I missed and also showed me how much dust was still on my floors!! I had so much fun vacuuming with it since i saw what the old vacuum left behind! I am buying one for my daughter and one for my daughter-in-law for the holiday! I recommend this vacuum very highly!
