Shipping was quick, and I'm glad a big reputable company makes cases for a non-flagship phone such as the A8 (Lifeproof only makes cases for the S line from Samsung, for example). Unfortunately, saying the case is dust-proof isn't exactly accurate... the case has covers for the charging port and aux port but leaves both the external speakers exposed as well as the camera. I work in a metal shop so dust is extremely prevalent and ruined my last phone by filling the speakers and other openings with metal dust and scratching the camera until it was barely usable. I understand the reasoning for keeping the speakers exposed but I wish the product page gave more details about its features. As for the "dust-proofness" of the rest of the case, this is debatable. I removed the case after only a week of use in my shop and found a noticeable amount of dust inside the case. I accept that working in a metal shop may be an extreme exception to the dust resistant abilities of this case but I cannot deny being disappointed. All other aspects of the case seem fine despite my glaring issues. I have dropped it from chest height onto concrete and found no damage, so at least that part seems true.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I Always use Otter box because it's a product of trust and confidence.... I gave it three stars because they removed the solid front screen protector.... they could of offered both types of products for the diverse types of clients...

The case is very durable. It has an edge so the phone can safely be put screen down. Headphone and charging ports are protected from dust. I don't have to handle my phone like a raw egg anymore. Pair it with a glass screen protector and your phone will be fully protected.
