Great Printer for the Price!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product for free from Brother in exchange for my honest opinion/review of the product. It`s incredibly fast and remarkably quiet....something I can appreciate since my office is small and it sits NOT far from me. The print/images are sharp and clear, it can hold up to 1000 sheets of paper and the toner cartridges print up to 6500 pages before you run out. It comes with both the color and black and white cartridges already installed. I`m fairly sure that for me, 6500 pages is going to last a long, long time. The one drawback I find immediately out of the box is that it does NOT scan/copy. For me, I just really prefer to have a scanner/copier as well built into my printer. For me it would have had added value for it to be a multi-function printer....just my opinion. I love the pull out paper drawer.....the paper is kept clean and nice and flat. My old printer left the paper exposed, and after a while would have a curve to it from always sitting in the feeder tray. No dirt or particles on my paper or falling into my printer! AWESOME!

Sheet Label AWESOME

I'm mainly a seasonal user. May thru October I print out thousands of sheet labels. The straight thru paper path and the multi purpose tray make it a label makers dream. I use standard matte, glossy and polyester labels. My labels have verbage, graphics and photos in any combination and they come out clear and vibrant. I would rate it Excellent for labels and Good for Photo Quality. In this price range I have not found a color laser printer that can compare.

Jamming & speed issues

Product speed is not true .
Printed Avery labels and machine jammed several times and could not handle more that 3 copies at a time .

I have to review the manual. Not sure how to print manually for labels, special papers and envelopes yet. Otherwise, GREAT wireless printer.

I love my new printer. The duplex feature is a new feature for me. There are two things I would improve. 1) its a bit noisy, quieter would be nice, but not essential and 2) I know this is not a printer meant for photographs. I know that. But it would be lovely if I could print color photos a bit nicer than what this produces. Don't count on it for photo printing. It does print lovely colored graphs and text.

Really nice printer to startr

This is my SECOND Brother Laser printer. The first, a HL-3170CDW, lasted about 1.5 years, including, of course MANY toner changes, and all drum replacements, as well. I expected this printer to AT LEAST last as long as a good inkjet printer, at least a couple of years. But, alas, no. So, hopefully not foolishly, I upgraded to the next eschalon of Brother printers, and, so far, so good.
