Wonderful Printing

This is my third Brother product and it joins the other two as a great workhorse. The set-up was effortless and the output is excellent. The colors are crisp and the speed is outstanding. While I didn't buy it for its beauty, it is a nice addition to the office.
I would recommend this to a friend!

It's Everything I Wanted, and More.

Setup went far more easily than I had expected; it even connected to our wireless LAN without a hitch. The printer works wonderfully; it even handled without difficulty some sheets of membership cards on very heavy cardstock that had jammed in both of our other two printers. And it's very quiet! It sits right next to my desk, and I can be on the phone while it's printing and still hear everything clearly. I am very happy with this printer!

No Duplex on a Mac

While the printing is fine and the new larger capacity toner cartridges are a welcome change—along with longer lives for the other consumable parts, I am very disappointed with the printer as connected to my Mac. For the life of me, I cannot get the printer to do duplex. It works fine from my Surface and even iPhone and iPad—but not the Mac. I have set duplex as the default on and off—no difference. I have no idea where I should go for help on this. Web searches return lots of results on how to enable through the Mac interface. Even tried to update the driver. Also, the handling of envelopes is totally different from the previous version of this printer the 8200 series. Not happy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It's functional

We will start with my error not realizing this printer did not include a scan feature. My fault. I have spent hours trying to get the envelope print feature to work right. It still doesn't work right after updated drivers, etc. It is actually faster for me to hand write an envelope than to try to do a print. That, alone, makes this printer less than desirable in my book. All other print features seem to work fine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Very good print quality; reasonable price

This printer produces high-quality pages at a good speed, and came at a good price for this class of device. After hearing about the alleged difficulty if installing wireless home-network printers, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the wireless installation was straightforward.

An amiable printer

I bought this printer because my new computer did not have a sluggish USB 2 connection, which the old printer needed. I found the wi-fi connection a vast improvement, because I had grown to accept but dislike the tangle of connections under and behind my desk, but also was enchanted by the brisk printing, the capacious storage for blank paper, and the excellent color vaues of this printer. I even prefer the curious sequence of (very quiet) noises it makes as it prepares for and delivers its prints. I am, however, still confused by duplex printing, but no doubt I will sort it out if I spend enough time with the manual.

Excellent Printer!

I was the technology director for a school district for many years and I bought Brother printers on several occasion. I have always appreciated Brother printers' performance and reliability. This new color printer is for my personal use in my home office. I am extremely happy with its performance so far. The printer was very easy to install on my home network. The only slight issue is that there is some paper curl when printing single sided output. Double sided print does not curl the paper. I have tried correcting this in the driver features without success. However, I consider this a minor issue. I am looking forward to several years of service with this printer.
