Plastic Separator Could Fit Better
on December 30, 2021

The device works well, but it is annoying that the plastic separator doesn’t allow the computer to close even if it is flipped over (it doesn’t match the curvature of the bottom of the laptop). The connectors have an ugly gap when the plastic separator is not present.
This DUO 7 in 2 makes using my MacBook Pro a breeze with other non-Apple devices and accessories. Two small issues are exist. First the magnetic stabilization adapter doesn’t work with my MacBook Case and secondly the unit is not as stable without the magnetic stabilization which makes removal of the various devices cumbersome. Build quality is excellent and shipping was very fast.
I use this mainly to dump most of my 4k ProRes HQ footage and edit off of an external SSD. I really only have 2 small complaints about it.
1. When using the extension cable the only type c that works is the one closest to the SD slots. The top one doesn't seem to connect to anything. Only when I have both ports connected to the computer do they both work. 2. It is a little loose of a connection because I have a thin case on my Mac. The case takes up the space of the magnetic strip so I never have that extra lip of control when attached.
Other than those 2 small things I love the little pouch it comes with and how portable it is.
I have been one of of the first kickstarter supporters of Sanho back in 2016 when they released their first hub. This one I bought for my sister and her new MB Air, however I had to return the product as I couldn’t with the fact that using the sock would mean keeping the lid open.
I purchased two devices to go with my Apple iPad Pro 12.9”. The Hyper Duo and the Hyper 6 in 1. Disappointed that neither of them will direct connect to the iPad and actually work. I tried the various bumpers provided screwing the different bumpers to see if I could achieve a better fit. None of the ports work in any configuration. If I use the USB-C connector cable then a good connection can be made and the various ports work. True for both units. This manner of implementation is less than elegant however and I might have opted for another device. Disappointing but with the usb cable connector provided I do get the functionality so it’s ok.
I can’t use your devise on my new MacBook Air because for whatever reason the plug ins - ie the larger screen I use in addition to my laptop - need to be plugged into the MacBook Air directly - also I can’t close the lid without detaching the HyperDrive. Honestly, I’d like to return it but I’m sure it’s probably too late. I like the compactness of it and all that but I don’t think it works as well with the MacBook Air as you advertise.
This things cool and works extremely well compact and always ready on the go. The extra security it offers by having a magnetic bracket hold up really well. Except this thing gets extremely hot when you plug it in with nothing attached if you attach something it heats up much faster. I tried the extension usb-c to reduce it but to no avail it doesn’t heat up as fast but still gets uncomfortably hot.
