Every morning I boot my laptop connected to an external monitor via hdmi cable via the hyperdrive. Every morning I need to unplug the laptop's power source to get the monitor to awaken, talk to the laptop (via the hyperdrive) and see my laptop's screen.

Slim design but does not last.

I purchased two of these units in December 2018. I was happy with the slim compact design but less than a year later one of the units USB ports are failing consistently so that I can not use it to connect either my back up drives or a Jabra VOIP headset.

Great dongle

I am very glad I purchased this HyperDrive. First off, it's slick design is beautiful and pairs well with my MacBook, second, the ports it has are just what I need it is easy and light weight to pull out whenever I want. The only thing I don't like is that some of the ports are a little tricky to get chords in and out of. Otherwise, it's great!

2 months ago I purchased a HyperDrive SLIM 8-in-1 USB-C Hub, to connect my Macbook to my Retina display monitor. It is always very hot to the touch when connected and regularly loses connection with my monitor so I have to disconnect everything and reconnect. Sometimes it takes multiple attempts to get everything connected again. For the cost of this hub I would expect it to work better than it does. I'm disappointed.

It functions for the majority of ports except for the HDMI, it does not work on my 32 inch Sceptre Monitor which give me an HDMI error.

Good but the thunderbolt 2 port doesn't work.

Sorry, but I believe you may have confused the Mini Display port on the Slim 8 in 1 for Thunderbolt 2 port, the 2 types of port look identical. But the port on the HyperDrive is only designed and spec as a Mini Display Port for Displays only as advertised and is not advertised for or support thunderbolt 2 devices.
