Not only does this beautifully designed hyperdrive do what I need it to, but it also looks great and works seamlessly with my MBP. Matches the Space Gray color to a T as well!

Prone to overheating

This is a very stylish SFF build, however when using with my MacBook Pro 15inch 2018 it regularly overheats and stops working. To it's credit, so far once cooled down, it starts working again but this has caused me to drop out of meetings at 5am causing me to go scrabbling around and waking up my wife looking for an alternative USB-C ethernet adapter (as wifi won't reach my home office). Usually it's to be found perched, angled at 45 degrees or vertically to get maximum airflow as lying it flat on my oak desk it overheats too fast. This happens even when no other devices are connected to it - just gigabit ethernet cable. To be far and open, this is not the only device of its type to suffer overheating in my MBP. An expensive previous device from a different manufacturer overheated and didn't recover when cooled down. Probably wouldn't recommend this to 2015 MBP owners though.

The device is an absolutely great device. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do and functions perfectly with the 2019 16-inch MacBook Pro.
The only cons for it are as follows:
It’s a little bit heavy.
When attaching earphones to it, there is an unmistakable hiss noise in the ear. Not a major thing, I just connect the earphones to the existing earphones socket on the MacBook Pro.

OK, the equipment came in

OK, the equipment came in well packaged and worked without any additional software. I plugged it into my Mac mini with an ethernet cable plugged into the RJ-45 socket my Mac mini came up worked great using the Internet full speed. I then hooked up an HDMI cable, to my TV, and ran both the ethernet and HDMI at the same time.
They both worked simultaneously being driven by my USB-C port, Thunderbolt, I could see a little glitch about every 15 seconds telling me that I was over driving the USB-C port, from the Mac mini, the hyper drive worked fine.

Extremely happy that my legacy

Extremely happy that my legacy iDisplay can now work with my windows laptop. All ports work exceptionally well and didn’t fail on me. Build quality is top notch.
And very portable size indeed
