Overall, I was very impressed with these earbuds. It’s very hard to get decent ones that sound good and are also completely wireless, comfort is a pretty important element as well. The ultra open earbuds have ALL of these features. I wasn’t sure what to expect when listening with these earbuds, I figured there would be a lot of sound leakage but to my surprise they are very personal. Listening to music doesn’t broadcast to the rest of the room like some open headphones can. They work as well as the Bose sunglasses do in this. In addition, the sound quality is crisp and amazing. They really compare to my QC45s which is exceedingly difficult to do with smaller drivers that earbuds are limited to. I’m guessing the open design in exploited in some way to make them sound as great as they do but definitely not a disappointing sound experience at all. Now of course I must address the fit as that’s probably the most uncommon feature these have. It does take some finagling and adjusting to get them into place, it’s hard to give advice since everyone’s anatomy is different. Eventually when you do find the spot they’re supposed to be, they hang on similar to clip on earrings and aren’t uncomfortable at all, I can wear them for much longer than any earbud I’ve tried so far. They tend to stay in place for the most part but when you’re new it might seem annoying to get used to and shift around, or did in my case. But it’s not rocket science. I have not really used these while doing anything remotely physically strenuous so can’t accurately comment on their stability in action.
I was very fortunate to test these and am glad I got to experience them - they are definitely my favorite go to daily earbuds now. Definitely an upgrade over the more typical earbud models in sound and comfort.
These earbuds are simply in a league of their own. Rather than sitting inside of your ear canal and being destined to eventually make your ear sore these earbuds latch onto to the back of your ear and immediately disappear from thought. They sit so snug and comfortably on your ear that I frequently forget that I am even wearing them even though I have audio playing full blast. These earbuds simply immerse you into a perfect blended state of being in the moment and aware of all your surroundings while also being in a private audio world of your own where you are listening to your favorite album or podcast. This type of audio listening experience is honestly one of my favorites, especially when you are living an active on the go lifestyle. These are great for throwing on to walk the dog so I can hear any cars coming up behind me when I am crossing busy streets, when I am in the office and still want to be aware of anybody calling my name, when I am in the garage doing some bike repairs and want to be able to hear what noises my bike and tools are making while I listen to my favorite podcast, and of course when I am doing cardio or weightlifting so I don't have to deal with gross sweaty silicone ear tips on my Airpod pros. The audio quality is phenomenal and absolutely up to standard of modern day high quality earbuds, the construction of both the earbuds and case is sophisticated and durable and the design and vision of is incredible and works extremely well in practice. Trust me do not fear this unconventional earbud design, these stay on my ear significantly better than any airpod has and I have taken these with me on several mountain bike rides where I am going quite fast through very rough and bumpy terrain and these earbuds never felt loose for a second. However, I must say, these earbuds are not for taking to the library to isolate yourself and deeply focus on your work, or for on the airplane to block out any white noise. These earbuds were designed for being able to engage in your environment while having audio not having the most secluded stuio-like audio listening experience you could have possible with features like noise cancelling, that simply was not the designed purpose of this product which may not work for some, but is seriously awesome for others like myself. I am genuinely stoked on this product and new perspective on audio listening from Bose, If you are on the go and have some gripes with your current bluetooth earbuds I highly recommend that you give these a try.
First, the color is beautiful. Second, the sound that comes from them are amazing. When I am on the elliptical working out I get some of the best sounds without hearing the equipment. It also allows me to hear things I want to hear which may be important. Third, the battery life has been amazing, and I don't have to worry about them dying in two to three days. Lastly, I don't have anything stuck in my ear which again is an amazing feature. I don't have to worry about popping my ears due to the pressure.
I was blessed to be a part of the Bose Sneak Peek program and was elated to be one of the first to use the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. Very lightweight & comfortable design along with the Bose unique sound of course. Long battery life (8 hours for me) and compact charging case for convenience. Highly recommended for sure, you won't be disappointed.
Using these earbuds is like strolling through a personal sound field that consistently stays put, no matter the activity; be it in the gym, on the farm, in the city or at home. This design brings a sense of freedom; I can be fully immersed in my surroundings while enjoying my own soundtrack. It’s the blend of awareness and private listening that sets these earbuds apart. They combine snug fit, stellar sound, and the ability to keep me connected to the world around me in a sleek, refined design. Their robust build and intuitive functionality enrich my daily life, making every moment enjoyable with a backdrop of my favorite tunes. I’m genuinely impressed with these earbuds and their ability to deliver a private, yet open listening experience. They’re a testament to what modern audio tech can achieve, blending high-quality sound with real-world practicality.
These little beauties are my new go to buds for moving and grooving. The motion setting in the immersive audio is a game changer whether I’m exercising or just doing chores around the house off the” Honey do list”. The openness I was unsure of at first thinking some of the audio might get list in the world around me because I’m used to my noise canceling Bose Quiet Comfort headphones, but after a day of use that uncertainty vanished into the world around me. The sound is rich, full, deep and encompassing. A home run! The battery life is simply amazing. Only recharged the case once after initial charge in almost 4 weeks I think, apple AirPods wouldn’t make it through a single week I know from experience. My only dislike and thus my reason for not giving 5 stars is the telephone calls weren’t always perfect. And if I wasn’t already wearing them, which in retrospect, why wouldn’t I have them on at all times because they are just that comfortable that you can actually do this, but if I wasn’t already wearing them and the phone rang I couldn’t necessarily get them on and in place very quickly to answer the call. Everything else I give a 10 out of 5 stars! I’m so in love with my new open ear buds and you will be too.
Embarking on my journey with the Bose Ultra open earbuds has been nothing short of delightful. As a resident of NYC, these earbuds have seamlessly integrated into my lifestyle, becoming an indispensable companion during my travels across the city. Their open design not only keeps me aware of my surroundings but also ensures a level of comfort that traditional earbuds simply cannot match. Whether navigating the streets with walking directions or simply immersing myself in city life, these earbuds are my go-to choice. While they may lack noise cancellation, they excel in providing a heightened sense of situational awareness, making them perfect for my daily commutes. As someone with multiple ear piercings, I initially had concerns about the fit, but to my delight, they proved to be both secure and comfortable. I would advise others with similar concerns to ensure compatibility with their piercings for optimal comfort. Moreover, the battery life has exceeded my expectations, offering prolonged usage without frequent recharges. In essence, the Bose Ultra open earbuds have not only met but surpassed my expectations, enhancing my auditory experience while seamlessly complementing my urban lifestyle.
I received these Bose Ultra Open Earbuds as a gift and I am impressed! The open ear concept is game changing and innovative! Sound quality is extremely important to me and these do not disappoint. The Immersive setting literally reminds me of surround sound system sitting in your ears. These earbuds are lightweight and did not cause me any pain especially after wearing them many hours each day. The unique design hold on to your ears without any problem. I have a very active lifestyle which includes running, mountain biking and cardio workouts and was skeptical about these holding up and not falling out unexpectedly. Once you put these in your ears and find the right spot, they don’t move! The only time one fell out is when I came home and my dog excitedly licked my face and ears and knocked one out.
There is no On/Off button on these. Once you put them in, they are technically “On” all the time. If your phone isn’t being used, they go into a standby mode until something happens (phone call, text message, email notification or any other type of notification) and then like magic, they are on and ready to work. The Ultra Open Earbuds have an amazing battery life on their own and have lasted me a full day of use (talking on the phone, streaming music and movies) without needing a charge in the middle of the day. When I go to bed, I drop them in the charging case and repeat the process again the next day. I’ve gone for 5 days without the need to recharge the case.
Again, these are an open ear design and allow you to be consciously aware of your surroundings. This is important especially if you are out in the public listening to music or talking to someone on the phone you can still hear what’s happening around you. I may have attended several company meetings while wearing these and still listening to my music and nobody around me could hear the music playing even when the volume was actually quite high…. During several phone calls I was sitting next to a colleague and he could not hear the caller I was talking to. I turned the volume all the way up and he leaned into me to see if he could hear the conversation and could only hear minor noise; not necessarily hearing and actual words. This is important to me since I spend 8-9 hours a day on the phone. I can still hear me colleagues talking to me while I’m on the phone.
I am not new, nor am I an amature to Bose Products. I have their original Bose BT2 Bluetooth headset, a really old pair of QC-3s (about 14 years old that my daughter is still using), QC-35 headphones (8 years old), the Headphones 700 I bought myself for Christmas, the Soundbar 500 and Soundbar 700 (with surround speakers and bass module), and several Bluetooth speakers. EVERYTHING still works as good as it did when it was brand new.
With that being said, these do not disappoint and are truly amazing earbuds & hold up to the Bose name, quality and cosmetically aesthetic designs!
