The Bose Open Earbuds Ultra came in a compact box that's perfect for it’s size and footprint. Setup was simple using the Bose Music app. Attaching the earbuds to your ears with proper fit takes some getting used to and instructions with pictures/videos definitely helped. Build quality of the earbuds appears premium as time will tell if flexibility remains strong enough to clasp around ears.
I’m using the earbuds with an Android phone and an iPhone. I had some initial issues getting the Bose Music app to connect to the earbuds on Android, but after force-closing the app it connected successfully.
I have been using the earbuds while working from home and mostly around the house while doing chores or relaxing. I've even shared one earbud with my wife, and we listened to a playlist while preparing to host a party. Call quality has been excellent when I've used while running errands.
Aside from an occasional bluetooth disconnection, I can wear the buds all day without ear fatigue. I get around 6 hours out of the buds in immersive mode before the battery fully depletes, but the case charges the buds really fast.
Sound quality has been excellent while still having the ability to hear my surroundings. I own a pair of bone conducting earphones for this benefit, but one of the major compromises is audio quality. Most of the ANC earbuds from known major competitors also have capabilities to let in noise from your surroundings but some prefer not to jam earbuds into your ear canal or wear headphones over your ears. There are pros and cons for both devices, and I think these open earbuds offer an excellent option for those people.
These are different ear buds than I have ever had. I like the ability to hear everything very clearly, but also hear external sounds, especially when I am out walking around town.
Incredible sound in such a small package. Frankly amazing. I would, though note, I would not trust wearing these anywhere other than when I'm at rest in a safe place, as these can fall off pretty easily, and I'd hate to lose them. In particular, I use them for sleep. And, the charge lasts 7 to 7 1/2 hours. I thought I'd use them for business phone calls, but I'm told that the sound of my voice on the other end is not good. That's OK. I have very good Bose alternatives for that. The older open ear buds that I have still work very well for phone use.
Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are precisely how they are described. It is a stunning device where it is not inside your ears but hears everything clearly, and you can listen to your surroundings. The only downfall I wish for is that sometimes you do not want to listen to your surroundings to focus on your music. Ultimately, it is a great device.
I love these earbuds! While I have other Bose products that I use when I'm trying to block out sound and focus, I really like using these for most other activities during the day. I usually have trouble with other earbuds falling out of my ears or being uncomfortable to wear for extended periods of time since my ears are on the small side. I haven't had any of those issues with this product. These earbuds are really comfortable since you can move them to adjust to different parts of your ear if needed. I do think it is important to note that they may be uncomfortable to wear with piercings if you have a lot on the middle section of your ear, but I don't after figuring out the right placement over a few wears. I think this product is perfect for working out or walking around. I'm able to hear important noises like cars or other people at a normal volume while fully listening to my music. I was surprised how easily it is to hear both so clearly! I move around a lot while exercising and I have never had them fall off of my ears which is really great.
The sound quality is great like the other Bose products that I have had. I had fun playing with the immersive audio settings on these earbuds with certain songs. I think it suits some songs really well and makes listening to them even more interesting.
I have found that the earbuds stay charged for a long time and I don't need to recharge them often. I forget to charge anything other than my phone pretty often so its super important to me to have devices with good battery life and these definitely fit the bill. I was worried about others being able to hear the sound from the earbuds, but I have found that they are surprisingly quiet and only faint noises can be heard if they are turned up super high, much higher than I listen to my music.
I would definitely recommend these earbuds and I have been using them daily since I got them!
I absolutely love my Bose Ultra Open Earbuds, they're pretty much the only thing that could've made me upgrade from my Bose QuietComfort Earbuds. They stay in/on my ears, and they're so comfortable that I honestly forget I'm wearing them, which is just this side of miraculous because I have really tiny ears and even the smallest size earbuds end up being painful and/or annoying after just a few minutes. And the sound is, of course, amazing. I already own three pairs to ensure that I always have a pair at hand. That's how much I love them!
