I got the travel backpack with the medium and small cubby and to be honest I probably could have bought a cheaper backpack that did exactly the same thing made by the Amazon basics team but would I have been as satisfied as I am with the peak design one? Probably not. Would it last me as long as the peak design back pack has? Probably not. My philosophy is you usually get what you paid for in life and with peak design you know you're getting a quality product. Hands down I'd recommend this to anyone!
I purchased this bag because I travel frequently and I Love photography. It fits the bill and does it with grace as well as brawn. I'm active duty Coast Guard and travel several times a year for deployments as well as personal travel and this thing is bombproof. I've flown dozens of C-130 flights all over Alaska and other parts of the country not to mention the commercial travel I've performed and it has held up beautifully. Having the camera cube system is key, when I need it for a travel only bag I simply remove the cube or if I'm bringing my kit I leave it in and go vagabond style with fewer clothes. I have the medium and small camera cubes and switch them out according to my needs. I will say this bag is on the heavy side but its worth the weight. It carries rather well with comfortable straps and the stow-able waist belt. The hardware is metal instead of cheap plastic. The attention to detail that went into its design and construction is clearly apparent. This is the product that sold me on Peak Design, ive since purchased an array of their products, now my wife says i'm a brand junkie... in fact I like quality, well designed and built products. I believe in spending the money on good products that perform and will last. I don't like buying things more than once and ive never regretted a single PD purchase.
This backpack is built like a tank and holds everything I could possibly want to carry with some room to spare. I've used it extensively in the 30l and 35l configurations. However, not much traveling is happening right now so I haven't gotten to utilize the 45l configuration. It is comfortable and easily accessible when I need it. And the features they were able to cram into this bag are numerous and extremely useful. All in all, this is the best backpack I've ever bought. And with a lifetime warranty, I'm hoping to use it for many years to come.
I travel a lot for work, and I needed a bag that could handle a weeks worth of clothing plus my laptop. This bag is perfect for both of those. I can easily pack 4 pairs of shorts, 5 t-shirts, a pair of jeans, and a hoodie. The info section says it can only hold a 15" laptop, but my 17" laptop fits perfectly. I highly recommend this bag for travel. Especially when you're at the airport once a week like I am. I can see this bag lasting for years.
The quality of this bag is awesome. I've been using a nomatic 40l backpack and this bag blows it away. The zippers are smooth the organization pockets are very thought out. One thing I'd like to see is longer waist straps I'm 6' 240 with a 40" waist and the strap is almost maxed out.
The 45L Travel Bag with large camera cube got me through 4 days at Disney. Worked very well. I loved being able to get into the bag from both sides, using an EOS R6 with 24-70mm, 70-200mm, a 35mm. I had the camera cube set up so that the PD tripod was down the middle of the cube.
