Just took it out for its first week-long trip. Pretty comfortable to walk with. Zippers feel really sturdy and held up well for the week. Took a bit of a squeeze to get it into the overhead bin on the plan but it definitely fit once I gave it a little push. Overall very happy with this purchase.
I recently bought the 45L Travel backpack along with a set of packing cubes (small, medium, and shoe pouch). My experience so far has been great. I love the material of the bag, and the features and size. It will fit all the gear that I have and allows me to travel easier with my camera. I have several trip planned this year to truly put it through it's paces, but I do have one concern.
I did a lot of research regarding this bag before jumping in, and one thing I didn't think of checking was how heavy the bag is by itself. When geared out, it's not as comfortable. I understand that this bag is designed for travel and is not best designed as an everyday backpack, but putting the same amount of gear I normally carry using my LowePro everyday bag (Fastpack BP 250 AW III) is significantly heavier. Something I didn't expect. With most load outs, using the waist belt reduces the strain on my shoulders but isn't viable in most cases.
While the weight is more than expected, the peace of mind of being able to carry all your gear with one bag and have additional space is worth the price. But for an everyday bag usage while traveling? You might want to travel lighter when you out and about.
Purchased a month ago. I can use it for everyday use in its 35l form or when I travel expand it to 45l. I don't have to have two backpacks this one covers it all.
My wife and I purchased two of these amazing packs for a two week trip to five Italian cities. We had no problems moving from trains, taxis, Ubers, boats, you named it we made it work. With new laundromats visits we maintained clean clothing for the entire trip.
Excellent pack for travelling or even in the city. Only downside is that the versatility and durability comes at the cost of weight. Sage color ages much better than black.
My son asked for a backpack that would qualify as a carry on but with more capacity than most. He loves the 45 L product and has used it several times already. Well planned and sturdy. Delivery was swift! Thanks!
I bought this for a 1-month trip to Europe in December. With the current state of the Airlines and the fact we were traveling at peak time, I was concerned that I may never see my luggage again. After a lot of research on the web, I invested in the PD Travel bag and packing cube system. We traveled through Italy, Turkey, and Spain and not having to check a bag was amazing. I even came back thinking of things I would reduce for our next trip. The bag performed well beyond my expectations, the features where more convenient than I thought they would be and the quality of construction was exceptional. All the storage pockets and handles where well thought out. I was happy with my purchase and I would highly recommend this bag.
The modular design and utility of this pack are excellent. Well placed pockets, reinforced zippers and the ability to accept camera cubes make the interior a very capable travel companion. It fits easily into overhead bins on most aircraft too.
Unfortunately the thin shoulder straps take away from the overall experience - especially when fully loaded, which this pack is totally capable of being.
A slightly larger shoulder strap with better padding and anti-slip would be a very welcome upgrade to what’s otherwise a stellar design.
