perfect bag for travel.

Just came back from a trip in south africa with the travel backpack with packing cube system inside. I love how it's easy to travel with this bag, lots of features, super versatile, i took 6 planes and no question about the size.
There is a lot of pockets for every item you put inside, so it's very easy to take what you want inside without messing everything.
Best bag ever for travel !

Best business travel bag I've ever owned!
on October 17, 2019

I travel most weeks for business, usually 2 or 3 nights. I decided to combine my roller bag and backpack into one to make travel easier. I did a lot of research (by a lot, I mean A LOT). I ordered a Nomatic travel pack and sent it back. It's a great bag, but not quite for me (I thought I wanted a lot of pockets but in the end they actually made the bag cumbersome). The Peak Design travel bag is (almost) perfect. I absolutely love this bag! I love how it looks. I love the quality. I love that it can be big, bigger, biggest. I love that it holds so much. I love that the pockets are large and have zippers. I love the side access. I love that my water bottle gets swallowed up by the bag instead of sticking out like a goiter. I love that the shoulder and waist straps hide away behind magnetic closures. Don't believe what others have written -- they are very easy to store!
Why it's not quite perfect: the top handle has minimal padding, so not easy to carry like a briefcase. It's supposed to be a bag that stands up on its own, but I've found that it only does so if I pack it a certain way. The snaps (to compress it to 30L) are difficult to snap. For me, it requires two hands and I have to fumble to get the snaps to line up. HOWEVER, all these "complaints' are very minor and they do not detract from my overall affection for this bag. Yes, I said affection.
By the way, it fit under my seat on my recent Southwest flight. It was pretty maxed out at the 35L size, but no problem!

2 weeks across Japan and a weekend in Toronto
on October 16, 2019

Got the bag through the kickstarter campaign and it arrived in time before my Japan trip. Used it as my carry-on and was able to fit my 15" macbook pro, a Nikon D750, a 20mm, 50mm and 85mm along with a SB-900. I used a small Wandrd camera cube to hold everything nicely. Was able to pack a jacket, Bose QC-35II's a go pro, a matador freerain 24L, and a whole bunch of other things. By the end of the trip, I had to made use of the waist belt which made a huge difference. Through the sweaty month of May, the bag still looks brand new after. It looks a bit large, even when compressed to the 35L size; I am 5'4 125lbs. I look like a ninja turtle with it on. For a weekend in toronto, it was my one bag travel bag. Again, perfectly fit everything I needed including an extra pair of shoes. I almost got rid of it because of the size, but for all the features it has (look at chase reeve's indepth) it's totally worth it.

Great bag! I got this after buying the Nomatic travel duffel and being super disappointed in it. This bag was a whole different world and exactly what I'm looking for in a travel bag. Can't wait to travel with it!

Amazing Bag

Took this bag on a week trip to San Francisco and loved it. Easily fit a week's worth of clothes and also a few other clothes that I bought while in SF. Have the tech pouch but didn't take it with me cuz I didn't have much tech stuff with me. Just took the shoe bag to stuff dirty laundry in. Getting through TSA was a breeze and the bag easily fit in the overhead on United. It felt comfy to wear on my back and made traveling alot easier being hands free. Would definitely recommend this bag

Thanks peak design for this superb travel bag that almost solve my hectic ways of searching perfect travel bag for fitting almost my gear and use it as a daily carry too. But, 1 star is deducted due to the comfort of the strap which i wish it could be a lil bit comfy (more cushion) if the bag is fully loaded. All in all, it is ok .. keep designing more stuff! you guys rocks!

Great for travel on smaller CRJ planes
on October 7, 2019

I bought the 45L travel backpack to replace my previous travel backpack. I live in an area where my local airport flies only small CRJ jets that must first go to a hub airport where larger planes fly from. So my carryon backpack must meet its ridged dimension restrictions. Gladly the 45L backpack meets them. I have the medium camera cube which houses all of my camera equipment and lenses (Cann 5D4, 24-70 f/2.8, 16-35 f/4, 70-200 f/4, plus many accessories). The upper space of the backpack easily houses my think tank hive for all of my Lee filter system filters and my other screw on filters as well as my kit for all of my chargers for camera batteries and laptop, phone etc chargers. I love the tuck in option for straps which makes it easier to stretch especially on the small CRJ plane. Overall it is a much better looking and functioning backpack for my travel camera needs!

Great with a few exceptions

I purchased the 45L travel backpack, medium packing cube, tech pouch and rain cover for frequent business travel. I have tried many things from messenger and spinner suitcase, to one bag travel and prefer the later immensely. That being said it is not without a few flaws that bother me each trip. I will 100% agree with all other reviews on YouTube, and here that it is a wonderful bag, well designed and constructed with quality materials. I love the storable straps, the lashing straps and rain cover. I has enough organization to be helpful but not overwhelming. But...
• When using the storable straps, it would be nice to be able to remove the waist belt straps. I never use them and they make stowing the shoulder straps a pain.
• The straps are not comfortable at all. Where it around downtown or in the airport all day and you'll feel it very early on. If I could add my FarPoint 40 straps it would be perfect.
• The pack is much heavier than other travel backpacks, noticeably heavier.
• Top strap is hard to grab since it's on the edge of the top. Should be centered.
In conclusion, I think the pack is great and really do like it. I just wanted to add a few real world points that are true for me. If i could get the above addressed, and have the comfort of the Farpoint 40 straps this would be the perfect pack hands down. When I travel for none work, or none flying I always grab the Farpoint 40 as it is way more comfortable to pack around all day.
