Nice chair, just not for me.

I thought I'd found th perfect computer chair but soon found out not for me. I really liked the seat having comfortable firm cushioning. The problem for me was it only raised up just over 20 inches from the floor. It was a real deal breaker so my search will continue.

I bought the HykenXL and i am soo happy with it. It is insanely comfortable and plenty of room for a bigger guy. I’m 6’1 330 and this is one of the comfiest chairs I’ve ever owned. It does lean back a little but I personally enjoy that. Seems really well made.

There is no way this should be called "Ergonomic"

The pictures don't show a side view so you can't see how horrible the posture is on this chair. In the most upright possible position, the backrest is still heavily leaning backwards. also, the lumbar support is painful at any position. this is not a functional chair. even the cheapest non-ergonomic chair has better posture.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

One Glaring Problem
on January 2, 2026

A couple years ago, we bought my wife a really nice chair (of a different brand) at Staples. We searched high and low, and Staples had the best deal on a solid chair. So naturally, when I needed one for myself, I did my homework but returned to Staples. I have used this chair for the last 2 months and while I find it acceptable, it’s by no means great. My wife’s chair is a La-Z-Boy, which is what I wanted. However, they no longer carried the chair I wanted so I had to settle. After sitting in nearly every chair on the sales floor, I decided to settle for this model. It was the most ideal combination of comfort, price, size and design. The thing that sold me on this chair, specifically, was the head rest. It seemed to cradle my neck perfectly and felt made for me. After I got it home and assembled and began using it, the head rest began falling to the bottom setting. The more I adjusted it, the worse it got. 2 months later, the head rest is now so loose that it will not stay in position and after just a few minutes, lazily falls to the lowest setting, which sits at nearly should level. I have tried to see if there is a place to tighten the headrest but there’s not. It’s a notched, plastic track with no real way to tighten it or lock it in place. This weekend I intend on creating some kind of work around to lock the headrest in place.
Aside from that glaring problem, the chair is fine. It’s a little firm as everything is that typical high-tensile strength mesh material that most middle of the road chair are made of these days. The armrests are adjustable in height, as in the chair base. The seat back reclines and has a couple different locking positions. I spend 8-10 hours a day in it and it’s not uncomfortable, but also not as nice as my wife’s La-Z-Boy.
Knowing what I know now, the chair filled a need but I think I would have pressed harder to find myself a La-Z-Boy chair.

Solid design, easy to assemble, comfortable

Solidly designed - very heavy components. Easy to assemble - about 1 hour proceeding carefully step-by-step. (The slowest step was aligning the bolts to attach the headrest.) Easy to adjust. The most comfortable office chair I've ever used.

Tempted to buy another one.

I first bought this chair in 2017 & it is starting to show some sag in the seat. Everything stretches out in time. But it is still fully functional.
I've spent a lot of time in this chair. Let's say from mid 2017-2025. On average throughout those years, I've weighed about 195 pounds.
Tempted to buy another one just to have it or take one into work.
