I was looking forward to adding this chair to my home office after reading the reviews. Unfortunately I purchased this in-store and when I got the package home it appeared it had already been opened and re-taped closed by the store. The box had damage as well. This was not sold to me as an "open box" item - I was under the impression I was getting a new product. The components of the dis-assembeled chair were just smashed into the box obviously not packed well and there were torn pieces of cardboard with tape from who knows what (probably the previous packaging). Missing items included the assembly instructions and all the screws and tools to assemble. I did contact customer service for the instructions and they emailed them promptly so I am pleased with that aspect. This was before I noticed their were no screws. Given the limited 14 day return policy I don't have time to wait for the missing parts to be sent to me and then find I don't like the chair after all so I returned it. Very disappointed. I was hoping to like this chair but the negative purchase experience outweighed the ability to even try it out.
I had been searching online for different styles prices colors and quality. This meets all the features I was looking for. I sit at my desk for multi tasking hours on end and have to discipline my lower lumbar and this helps me accomplish that. Great support comfort and holds up to my small but hefty frame. The headrest is an added plus. However the only possible con I may have found is if you're shorter than 5'5" the headrest may not be of much use because you may not be able to reach it to enjoy it.
We started with one chair assembled it without the arms and head support works well. We then purchased two more these are great chairs for a very reasonable price.
First I would like to start off by saying that the Staples Hyken task chair is the most comfortable chair I have ever sat on in my life. The mesh fabric keeps your back legs and bum cool without any uncomfortable overheating issues. Prior to this chair I owned an expensive leather executive chair that would overheat and cut circulation away from my knees giving me a tremendous amount of health issues. The Hyken chair actually counteracts those problems through its design and construction. If you spend most of your time sitting (5 hours or more) you should get this chair. It is worth every penny. One of the best investments I ever made.
Very nice chair. Stylish contemporary and very comfortable. I had to replace my old chair because it did not provide sufficient back support. I can sit in this new one for hours with no pain. Head and neck support is a great feature too!
I bought this chair because I couldn't afford the much higher priced Herman Miller chair. Also I like the fact you can take the arms off without affecting it's use if you play the guitar. Unless your real short the headrest is a nuisance. A couple assembly tips try to find a full size 5mm hex head wrench when assembling as opposed to the hand cramping little one they supply. When you get to the part where you attach the back of the chair to the base use a very small drop of oil on the screw threads and run them in from the opposite side you will screw them in when you mount the back to the base. I found this to be the hardest part of the entire assembly and it has the potential to strip the threads. If you run them through first and then assemble it will save you from a potential disaster. The longer arm of a regular size hex head gives you more control and really makes the assembly a snap. This chair is very comfortable and supports my back well. But I'm going to can the headreast. I'm 5' 8" and it digs into my upper shoulder blades.
