The arm rests alone are reason not to buy this. No padding and when you lean back they stay put so you essentially can't use them. Mesh doesn't flex enough and is uncomfortable to sit on. The headrest is too far back and not adjustable that way only up and down. If you want to lean back and watch a show you can forget about the headrest. The only good thing about this chair is the construction. Unlike a cheap wooden frame chair I could lean back in this and not fear that I'm going to snap the back in half.
Easy to assemble. Very comfortable. Light weight and breathable. Rolls/pivots well. Plenty of adjustments make it ergonomically very good especially for the sale price of under $130. I would recommend to anyone and have already done so. The instructions are very clear and concise. Parts are individually bagged and labeled. Perhaps they could forgo the color coded paint on the screw threads. The paint makes it a bit tough to get them started. Other then that the only other con would be to have an adjustment to shorten or more likely extend the arm supports and pad them. Overall I give it a 9/10.
I absolutely love this chair! When I recline on it with the headrest adjusted just right I feel like I can fall asleep on it. The assembly is straight forward however tightening the screws with the supplied allen wrench is not the easiest thing to do and I have strong fingers. If I had a power tool it would have been nice but it is not a requirement. All in all I am very satisfied with this chair and would definitely buy it again!
I tried the chair at store and really liked it. Ordered online on 9/17/2013. When received from UPS package partially open at the opening. Parts seemed crammed into the package in a hurry. Invoice says it is from alternate warehouse. Chair assembly went well until step 4 using part C (3 screws) to connect chair back and chair seat. After just a couple of turns the screw is stuck in the hole. I thought problem is due to the blue paint on screw partially filling up threads. Went around to find something to remove the paint. Finally found Goof Off after some trials and errors with other substances. Goof Off worked and paint started to loosen. Used tip of push pin to scrape off paint. However screw is still too big; after a few turn stuck in the hole no matter how hard I force it in. I really liked the chair but spent too much time and energy to resolve this problem without success. Finally I had to return chair to the closest Staples store.
Task chairs are like clothes. They fit or they don't. For me this chair is the most comfortable one I've had. Went together pretty quick and seems solid - no problems. It's heavy and stable. Definitely worth checking out if your looking for an adjustable mesh chair for less $$$ than the high end brands. If it feels good the first time you sit in it at the store (like me) you probably won't regret buying it. The headrest is perfect for my frame (5'8" male) and I can so some serious chilling leaning back and putting my feet up. The adjustable tension on the tilt function works great and makes it easy to enjoy the tilt and still feel stable.
