Great but lock is poor
on September 1, 2026

I love everything about this chair, EXCEPT that the recline locking mechanism does not stay locked in position. I can set it at the angle i like, but it quickly releases once i am not putting pressure on the back of the chair. So every time i resituate in the chair i have to re-lock it. Not gonna lie... kind of a pain in the butt...

Fantastic entry-level ergonomic chair

For its price, the chair is very sturdy and comes with great customization options, and the cushion is quite nice (as opposed to mesh). The only critiques are that:
- The armrests can swivel left and right without any locking mechanism. This is rarely an actual issue, but it can be a little annoying when I accidentally knock them into different positions.
- The headrest cannot be easily removed or moved out of the way, requiring the usage of the provided Allen wrench to uninstall. Understandable, as it would most likely break after regular use if it could be easily snapped on and off, but still unfortunate when you want to fully recline.
- It can be a little tricky to get the lumbar support positioned just right, especially if you're on the shorter side.
Overall, a great purchase, and one I can wholeheartedly recommend for anyone looking for a solid chair.

Definitely for bigger / wider folk
on August 26, 2026

This chair is definitely made for bigger / wider folks like myself. But my god the angle of the lower cushion is absolutely atrocious. It forces you to sit slightly tilted back putting more pressure on your hips and tailbone for no reason. The back also leans slightly back which makes it like sitting in a folding stadium seat when you dont weigh enough for it to open.

Staples Hyken XL Ergonomic Fabric Swivel Big Tall

Most chairs are rated for 250 lbs or less. I have broken quite a few chairs by being 320+.
This chair can support my weight and is fairly comfortable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Lumbar support is awful
on August 18, 2026

This is for the chair model (ST63145). The lumbar support is awful. After only a few minutes my back is hurting regardless of position. The chair feels sturdy enough. Also, even at it's lowest height the chair still feels like it is too tall. I'm 6 for 2 inches and I felt like it was putting pressure on my legs. I tried numerous adjustments and just can't get comfortable in this chair.

Loved it so much, I bought it twice
on August 17, 2026

I first bought this chair back in 2020 when I started working from home. At the time, I thought it was pretty reasonably priced at ~$200+tax. I'm in it 5 days a week, 8+ hours a day, and at least for me - a 5'6" female, approx. 200 lbs. - it has been very comfortable, and I'm extremely happy with it. I've had no issues with adjusting the seat height, armrests, or lumbar. I've felt very supported, and having a headrest is a game changer when you need to lean back from your computer for a quick break. The only issues I've had were the foam pad under the front of the seat starting to break and fall out after about 4 years (you can just stuff it back in), and eventually the hydraulic lift for the seat stopped working after 6 years. The chair is so reasonably priced that it's basically not worth repairing it, so I just bought my second version of this chair this week, and it cost LESS than when I bought it 6 years ago! I also tried out the Dexley (along with every other chair in the store), and I still like this one best! The Dexley is very similar, but this chair (the regular version) seems like it fits a shorter person better. My husband ended up buying the Dexley and liking it, but he's 6' tall. For the money, I'm not sure you can get a better chair than this.

Uncomfortable Lumbar Support
on August 15, 2026

Good quality materials, very poor design. Controls to raise and lower chair and recline are finicky and difficult to use. Lumbar support is hard and very aggressive, even on the lowest setting. I find it very uncomfortable and if I sit for more than a few minutes my back hurts. Not what you want in a computer chair.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
