Comfortable chair with an issue
on October 28, 2014

While the chair itself is comfortable I did have to remove the headrest feature as it is located at about the top of my shoulder blades. I am 6 foot tall so it's not like I am oddly tall either. The other thing to be aware of is that it does have a 225# weight limit. If it had been used for the shipping manager it would have to have been returned. As it is we will keep the chair because it is comfortable. But if you are buying this with the headrest in mind and are taller than 5'10" or over 225# I would look elsewhere.

Great chair for the price!

I spend the work day at my desk and started to feel lower back pain. I figured I would try a new office chair and found the Hyken chair set up at my local Staples. I could feel the lower back support right away and since the chair was on sale I decided to pick it up. Well after a few weeks of using it I'm happy to say my back doesn't hurt anymore so I'd say the Hyken chair is a big win! Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that the seat is a little on the small size so might not be the best fit for all users.

The chair is very comfortable and it gives the back support that is needed when you are sitting in it for several hours. Very nice chair and well pleased with it.

Great for my tall son
on October 23, 2014

My son picked this out for his new desk which was at an awkward height for him and the keyboard .. we needed the chair to be able to go up and down to accommodate both this desk and his drafting table which is higher. He has neck and back pain so even at 16 this is a great chair for him because it really encourages sitting straight up keeping arms up and not slumping down. the only thing he wishes is that the neck could adjust up and down also as it seems a little low for him. But he's probably trying to slide down and play video games in it. I think it is a great chair and the mesh will keep him cooler than a leather chair would.

Comfortable and Easy to Assemble
on October 22, 2014

I've had this chair for two weeks and I'm very happy with it. The assembly instructions were easy to understand and the only tool you need to assemble the chair is the Allen wrench that's included. All of my previous office chairs had a low back and no headrest so I planned on leaving the headrest off of this chair when I assembled it. It's attached with two Allen head screws so if you leave it off the chair looks fine without it. However after reclining in the chair a couple of times to relax I found that the headrest allowed me to relax my neck muscles so I've decided to leave the headrest on. You'll find that there's a big knob under the chair. When you turn the knob at the store you won't notice any obvious adjustment and may wonder what it's doing. So I thought it was a good idea to let you know what it does now. By the way just so you're aware the assembly instructions that come with the chair go into detail about all of the adjustments. The knob adjusts the tension of the spring that allows the back of the chair to tilt backwards. Depending on how tight or loose you make the spring by turning the knob left or right will determine how much weight from your body is needed for the back of the chair to tilt back to varying degrees. You can lock the chair in an upright or a reclined position if you want to as well. I like to leave the back unlocked so I can lean back a little bit while working sometimes. If I want to recline to relax for a minute; I just lean back more and the chair will tilt back more. The only negative thing I can say about this chair is the location of that knob. However once you adjust the tension of the back of the chair with it you won't have to adjust it again. Some of the other chairs I looked at had this adjustment within reach when you sat in the chair. However those chairs weren't as comfortable as the Hyken. The adjustments that are important to me are the height of the chair and the height of the arms. Those adjustments are within easy reach while I'm sitting in this chair. My advice is to take your time when you're looking for a new chair. Try out several of them in the store and make sure you use the adjustment levers to make the chair as comfortable as possible for you. It took me about an hour trying different chairs before I decided to purchase this one and I'm very happy with it.

The chair breaths with the mesh back and seat. Provides excellent lumbar support. Most comfortable chair I have ever had.

So far this is a great addition to the home office. As long as the mesh holds up I'll be very pleased with my decision.
