Great chair until mesh loosened on seat

I work from home and got this for my home office because I needed a chair I could sit in 8+ hours a day. Very nice at first. Very supportive very upright--not a chair that encourages slouching. And the price is good considering what you might pay elsewhere for a chair with a comparable design. My only criticism at first was that the neck support sat too low to be effective (it kind of poked me in the shoulders instead of being high enough to cradle the neck) I ran into a big problem after about a year though. The mesh started to loosen or stretch a bit and now it sages a bit in the middle and presses in on my hips and thighs when I sit in it. t's actually screwing up my hips noticeably over the past month. If I'm away from it for the weekend or on day trips the pain starts to go away. Now I have to look at getting a new chair. I don't have a body that should put a lot of strain on the chair (about 5'11'' and 195 pounds in good health). I don't know if I got one that's a little defective or if this has happened to other people. I probably wouldn't get this chair over again but would spend the extra money and get the one that has a solid cushion base.

I got this chair for my son for Christmas but he couldn't wait till then to use it as the chair he had was so uncomfortable for sitting at the computer. Haven't heard any complaints from him since so I think he's lovin' it! Great value for a terrific chair!!!

Chair teams up- poorly made

Chair will tear up. Back breaks away staples fall out. Plus with Staples exceptionally poor service you only have 14 days to return. I would not buy this chair (or any "Staples" branded product.

Back relief and comfort

I suffer from lower back problems including a lumbar spinal fusion and spinal stenosis. I need good lumbar support and firm support for my upper back and neck. The Hyken chair from Staples has been a great purchase. By using the adjustable tension in the backrest i can maintain firm continuous support for my lower and upper back while working at my desk. When I am not using the computer I can use the desk to relax my back by leaning back using the headrest and essentially taking all the stress off my back by fully relaxing the entire length of my back. A fine chair and a purchase that might work for people who need extra support for their backs.

Very nice chair feels good on the back

Nice lumbar support feels like good quality construction. Some ofthe bolts were overly tight-fitting so be prepared to really lean into it. Only improvement would be if the headrest could be elevated - I'm only 5'9" but it's too low for my shoulder. Granted the reat can tilt back which alleviates the issue someone but only if you want to recline your head. Still you don't buy a good supportive chainr to lie down in :)

Great chair great price

I've been through several chairs in the last year. I need support for my neck but I'm also short. But a lot of the "executive chairs" out there are built for 6 ft tall men which means that I don't fit in them well. I've sat in all kinds of chairs from all different makers and from all different stores/retailers. This one is a winner. I like the mesh because of the air flow; completely necessary in the sauna that my office becomes when it's more than 55 degrees outside. The armrests are adjustable and the key are adjustable down low enough for someone of my height. One thing I haven't figured out yet though is how to limit how far the back can recline. When I do lean back it goes all the way and I feel like I'm going to go head over heals onto the floor.

Uncomfortable chair

This chair is an improvement over the leather "executive" chair I bought from Staples a few years ago. I fell apart much sooner than it should have beginning with plastic caps the covered the ends of the legs and were held on by hollow molded pegs that fit into pre-drilled holes in the legs. The pegs broke off and glue wouldn't hold them back on. That said the new chair is seat is not very comfortable because it doesn't have enough "give " and the back leans backward far too easily even though I have changed the tension on the adjustment to its maximum point.
