I had the same model for 9 years and absolutely loved it. The new one doesn't have a smooth transition between speeds. Turning the dial down even very slowly causes the machine to come to a standstill and then speed back up. I don't know if I got a lemon or if the new machines are of lower quality, but my 9 year old machine runs more smoothly than my new one.
