Blends great smoothies and hummus, but the 30+ minute cutoff to prevent damage is SUPER annoying as it generally happens right when you are pretty much done, then you aren't able to clean the thing by running it. Otherwise, perfect. Still, the price seems a bit high.

This is our second Vita-Mix. There is a significant quality difference between this new one and our older one. The new one feels flimsy and all around lesser quality. The base itself is lighter and the plastic is thinner. The motor doesn’t sound as quiet as our other Vita-Mix. Overall, this is still probably the best option on the market. But we are sadly disappointed in the reduced quality.

If your Vitamix shut down while blending, it is likely it temporarily overheated. Sometimes the machine may emit a burning odor and/or stop temporarily because its thermal protector sensed that the machine was close to overheating. If this occurs, we recommend turning the power switch off for up to 45 minutes, allowing the machine to cool down or reset. To avoid overheating your machine in the future, be sure to ramp the machine up to the highest speed within five seconds of turning it on to activate the cooling fan in the motor.
If you have not done so already, please try to power your Vitamix on today to see if it has regained power. If not, we suggest attempting to power the Vitamix on using an outlet in a different room, as this may sometimes be required to reset it.
If you’ve tried the above steps and your machine is still without power, please call us at 1-800-848-2649, so we can offer immediate assistance.
