When I use fresh fruits and veggies it works superbly. Whenever frozen fruits or veggies are involved I have to stop it frequently and stir it because the content stop moving which is quite frustrating. Also I’ve had a bit of trouble doing simple things like baby food (quinoa and water, oatmeal and water, etc...). Whenever I follow a recipe in the included booklet it usually turns out great but when I try to do something on my own using the same liquid to solid ratio I usually have problems.

It’s great. I didn’t even realize it could cook soups so that was a nice bonus. It saves me a lot of time and the recipe book provided has at least 2 weeks worth of meals.

I've had my Super 5200 series Vitamix for over 10 years. I don't know what I would do without it. It still works great! I use it in a variety of ways to support my Whole Food Plant-Based (WFPB) lifestyle. It really is a must-have for any healthy diet. I use it in a variety of ways:
grind decaf coffee beans
grind grains, beans, seeds, and nuts
frozen "nice" cream
hot soups
smoothies
cashew cream(er)
nut/seed butter
sauces, dressings, dips
etc.
It blends things so much creamier than any other machine I've ever used. It even makes smooth sauces that have raspberry and blackberry seeds. No more little seeds getting stuck in my teeth!

I got my first 5200 in 2010 and it fabulously for 10 years. I've never had such a high quality machine -- even after 10 years, the only problem was that the wires at the plug wore thin. I replaced the plug and it still works perfectly, but I decided to buy a new machine so I could pass this one along to my sister.
I researched all the new options and the 5200 was still the product that seemed to best suit me and I purchased it. I've had it for 6 months and it is fine, but there is a clear difference. The middle speed control nob does not register smoothly with the motor. I can turn it up very slowly, but the motor will speed up in jumps. It is so disappointing. When on high, the machine works exactly as my other machine did, but it's frustrating that my 10 year old machine of the same model still works better than this new machine.
I don't know if this is a lemon or if it is a feature of the newer models. I still stand by Vitamix for my old machine.

Obsessed!! We use our new vitamix twice a day. Our smoothies have gotten healthier since now I can add tons of greens and seeds and everything gets blended into an ultra smooth mixture. Also love that it heats our sauces so our plant cheese is ready to go once the macaroni is cooked. I don’t know how I lived without this machine!
