We had the 5100 for 16 years and it finally was slowing down so we took it to the cabin and bought the 5200 for home. Use it almost everyday and it is true work horse. Greatest blender ever!!!

Wow. I wondered if I was buying into the hype and getting more blender than I need...but this has been so great. I've never been a big smoothie person, but now I'm making them just about every day. The Vitamix grinds through frozen fruit like it's nothin'. I've made soup as well, and intend to explore more recipes--but I'm still excited by the smoothies.

My parents bought a Vitamix when I still live at home many years ago and I was so amazed at how smooth the smoothies were. When I got married, my husband and I received a different brand of blender and when I would make smoothies, it was always chunky no matter what setting I used. I made the plunge and bought my own Vitamix and will never own another blender. The quality cannot be beat and the customer service is wonderful! The first blender I received did not work properly and they were wonderful with helping me get a replacement. You all have a customer for life!

I'm actually pretty disappointed with my recent purchase compared to an older model I bought in 2013. Seems to me the quality and performance has gone down, yet the price has gone way up compared to when I bought my first Vitamix (which I loved). I should've just sent my old one in to be reconditioned instead of buying a new blender. This new one seems to struggle making basic smoothies - fresh/frozen fruit, yogurt, juice - and puts off a smell when in use. I loved my old Vitamix and it lasted many years so this is incredibly disheartening.

Hi! We are sorry to hear that your new product is not working as expected. Please reach out at 1-800-848-2649 so that we can assist you further. Also know that the behavior you are experiencing is completely normal for a newer machine. Although all motors are tested at the Vitamix production facility, heavy use will cause further curing of the motor windings. This curing gives off a burning smell and is typical for wound motors. This smell will quickly dissipate after a few more heavy uses.
