I purchased my vitamix right before lockdown. I’m so glad I did. I’m 3 months pregnant and looking to incorporate more vitamins and fruit/veg into my diet. I’ve made banana, spinach, flax seed, greek yogurt smoothies with coconut water as well as butternut squash soup. I’m am so impressed with the power and ease of use. My smoothies have a perfect consistency, they’re smooth, no chucks, no little bits clogging up the straw. One of my favorite features is that the vitamin is self cleaning! So much easier to use than my old nutribullet That had to be disassembled and clean up is so much faster. Hands down one of my favorite kitchen appliances!
This is my second Vitamix. The first was a refurb and the second was new. It is great for smoothies, and such, but it cannot handle Hummus, which we make a lot of. OMG, It shakes, smells of an electrical fire and will vibrate off of the counter top if not held in place. I called Vitamix and they gave me instructions for when making Hummus. It, still, does a very poor job.
Pros: Easy to use

Hummus is a dense recipe that requires the use of the tamper that came with your machine. Once you add your ingredients to the container, start the machine and turn it up to 10 quickly. As the unit runs at high speed, insert your tamper through the lid plug opening and press it into the recipe repeatedly. This will break up air pockets that can put a strain on your motor. With high speed and the tamper, your recipe with flow freely through the container and your cooling fans will prevent the machine from overheating.
Although I haven’t used it much so far, it is living up to expectation. Especially being easy to clean! I hope it will prove to be the daily use item I have imagined for so long, but I’m still finding my way around its full capabilities.
This was my first machine! I had it for seven years with the original container! It worked like a champ! We wanted a new one to match our new appliances so we gave this one to another family and it is still going strong!
Had a 5000 wife wanted a red one so we moved up to a 5200 and love the better designed container and lid...it is quieter and loved the 5000 but it would heat up on thicker stuff I run...this one goes right through it just as easy but stays cooler...not a game changer but smart advancements and do not regret getting it...we meal prep and compete in spartan, epic strength and crossfit I'm a 1sr responder and wife is a RN..So we live an extremely healthy life and make stuff for our kids daily and us...
I would recommend this to anyone it packs an amazing punch and BEST price of equipment in our kitchen....
Pros: Texture Quality, Durability, Easy to use, Recipe Enhancement, Power
