Noisy when powered off

When we have it on timer or turn it off the unit make a loud humming sound. Tried to figure it out but couldn’t. Anyone else have this problem. Bought this for my babies room but the hummmmm keeps him awake. Thanks for any help.

Great as a fan especially with swing function

I would give this fan a 5 star rating but for me the evaporative cooling function is not so great for cooling my bedoom. It seems to work best if Im sitting right in front of it.
The swing feature is nice when attached. The evaporative cooling is probably best if used in a well ventilated area which I can't do well because my door must remain closed all day. My NewAir is sturdy and light enough to move easily around the room or house. If a swamp cooler is your thing you should give this one a try. EC111W
