I bought this a few months ago and have been running it at low load sporadically for the engine break in. I have had zero issues with it so far, and it seems to nicely charge up its battery as it runs. It is very quiet and easy to move around. The oil change fill is a bit tricky to get to, but Duromax included a flex-spout funnel to help. I just wheel it up onto a pallet and that helps to drain/fill. Overall, a very nice unit that seems well made and built to last.
I love everything a lot about it. It looks good. The dials gauges are easy to get to except for the wires that are blocking the oil cap. I don’t understand why they’re going right in front of it or you need to get to all the time.
The generator works as designed. It's quiet and I was able to connect it to my transfer switch to successfully power my home. There are a couple of issues though that make me reconsider buying this product. Checking the oil is problematic and you should do this each time you run the generator. The access is within a small housing and is directly blocked by a cable. In order to pull out the oil dipstick, you have to try to force down the cable but it's still hard to get two fingers on the cover to pull it out straight. End result is that it's harder than it should be to get an accurate reading of the oil level and you will likely drop some oil onto the cable because it's difficult to get past it without rubbing against it. Note, the product documentation does not reflect the cable and DuroMax states that the pictures are for 'illustrative purposes' only and not intended to be an actual reflection of the product. In other words, don't count on their support manual to be an actual representation of what you're getting. Also, if you buy from DuroMax, you can't return the generator once you put oil in it so buyer beware.
Generator was well packed and delivery worked out well with the lift gate. It runs smoothly and quiet as expected. It would be nice if Duromax provided a little more guidance on propane cylinder vaperization vs temperature. While waiting on the natural gas connection, I decided to break it in on propane. A 11000 watt generator definitely needs more than one 40 lb propane cylinder at 15 deg. F outside temperature. Also, more information in the manual on how to remove the ground to neutral bond would have be nice. The other challenge was the cable bundle positioned right in front of the oil fill. I was expecting this from other reviews so no big deal. Overall, a very nice generator so far with a great warranty.
